We are located just south of Daytona Beach, Florida. Sailing aboard Eagle is for people who have a desire to really experience sailing first hand for a few hours or a day. We are very flexible about time and are close enough to the ocean that, weather, sea and inlet conditions permitting, you can enjoy both river and open ocean sailing in a fairly short period of time. Eagle is a perfomance oriented sailboat, not designed for long term cruising, but great for sailing and learning about sailing. I will try to answer your questions about operating a sailboat and, if conditions warrant, let you participate in the operation of the boat. If you wish to just sit and enjoy the ride, that's OK too, although it's great to be able to tell others that you actually sailed a 36' sailboat. Several weddings have taken place aboard Eagle. Feel free to inquire about this service at (386) 295-2578. We have had 6 men propose to their true loves aboard Eagle and, to date, we have a 100% acceptance rate! -Capt. Eric West- If you have purchased a boat, power or sail, and wish a little temporary assistance during your learning period, I am available for consultation on board your boat. (go to the "Instruction" page for more details). If you have a boat that you would like to have delivered somewhere, please contact Captain West for assistance. Rates will vary depending on distance, boat size, boat type and crew requirements. (go to the "Delivery" page for more details). If you are selling a boat and can't attend the sea trials, or if you would like someone to operate your boat for the sea trials, I am available for this service too. Recent sea trials include a 45' Gulfstar sailboat, a 38' Hatteras motoryacht, a 43' Morgan center cockpit sloop and an Island Packet 38. Eagle can be chartered to take up to six passengers for an ash scattering service offshore. If more people wish to attend, we can usually arrange for a second boat so that we can accommodate groups of up to 12. The cost is the same as for a standard charter ($60/hr.per boat) and usually will take 3 hours for ash scattering alone, or 4 hours, to get 3 miles offshore, if the urn is also included in the scattering. On a recent offshore night race, I noticed how many meteors we saw and realized that this might be something that was both fun and interesting to others. With that in mind, Eagle Yachts is now going to offer Meteor Watching Night Sails during periods of activity associated with meteor shower peak times. These will leave late at night, usually, and remain out for about 4 hours, which should give somewhere around 2 hours far enough at sea to avoid the outdoor lighting backscatter.
