Azimut Yachts was founded by Paolo Vitelli in 1969. Since then AZIMUT has dedicated its efforts to acquire a unique expertise in the design and construction of fiberglass hull yachts. In 1974 this dedication began to pay off, with the introduction of AZIMUT Yachts own range of 11 to 16 metre watercraft. The further development of advanced fibreglass yacht building techniques led in 1983 to the unveiling of the world's first fibreglass yacht of over 30 metres - and clear demonstration of AZIMUT's status as world leader. In 1985, AZIMUT Yacht acquired the prestigious Benetti shipyards in Viareggio, and the know-how to build quality steel-hulled yachts over 40 metres in lenght. More than 30 years of experience, six shipyards and more than five hundred employees highly skilled, a complete range resources and assets. The AZIMUT Yacht Group has few equals anywhere in the world.
