Features RENEGADE is based on the most successful "R" boat of all time, COTTON BLOSSOM. In 1987 COTTON BLOSSOM was used to make a female mold and, that we know of, 2 boats were built off of it. The first, GYPSY, was done with no modification. The second, RENEGADE, built on spec., was modified reflecting the design thinking that went into the 12 Meter AUSTRALIA. Her one and only owner discussed the design and had it reviewed by well known naval architect Jim Taylor who "blessed" the design and who also assisted in the deck design, hardware layout and rig but recognition must also go to the owner and to Tom Flood, a well known yacht restorer and sailor in Michigan. Their concepts have been proven over and over again as RENEGADE has been extremely successful on the race course. She is equally fun as a daysailor and can comfortably handle a good sized party. She is a remarkably stiff boat and can sail with a full main and overlapping jib in 25 knots with as nicely a balanced helm as she has in lighter airs and without the feeling of being overpowered.
RENEGADE will have special appeal for those looking for a distinctive, yacht finished daysailor. She does have enough accommodations that she could be used for a short cruise as well.
Beautifully maintained and always stored inside, RENEGADE is sure to delight. She has only ever been day sailed, never slept on, the head stove and sink have never been used!!
We have prepared a CD with over 50 photos and will gladly mail one to interested parties; call for it today!
Remarks A spectacular custom built daysailor/racer, RENEGADE has had just one loving owner who is now, reluctantly, selling. She has an outstanding racing record and an equally outstanding level of maintenance. There are simple accommodations for up to six below but the focus on this boat was just great sailing! She should be seriously considered by those looking for a great performing daysailor but not looking to spend the $400,000 - $800,000 it takes for some of the 36' - 40' "designer daysailors" that are available today.
