Accommodations
The Westerly Corsair is a very roomy and comfortable boat with accomodations for 8 people. The interior is of teak with beautiful woodwork and craftsmanship that the British are so well known for. Beginning forward is a large V-berth with filler cushion, shelves and storage lockers. Aft and to port is the head and shower compartment, opposite are two hanging lockers. The salon is configured with straight settee to port that converts to a double and a single settee to starboard with storage below and outboard. The U-galley is at the base of the companionway to starboard and opposite is the forward facing chart table. Next aft in the walk-thru is a large pilot berth with storage below and outboard. The aft cabin has a large athwartship queen berth with hanging locker, drawers and storage lockers as well as a separate shower locker and vanity.

Galley
A very well designed galley for meal preperation while underway or at anchor, with safety and storage in mind. At the forward portion of the galley is a large countertop, with storage below. Outboard is the 2-burner LPG stove w/oven and broiler. Just aft of the stove is a large dry goods locker and above is the refrigeration box. Facing aft is the s/s sink. There is abundunt storage throughout the galley for cooking utensils and provisions.

Electronics
Located at the chart table is the Raymarine radar/GPS/plotter display, Horizon VHF radio and Icom SSB/ham radio, Garmin 128 GPS, Aquasignal compass and a Speedtech digital barometer. The Navma knot/log and depthsopunder are located in the coaming at the forward end of the sliding hatch and the autopilot control is adjacent to the helm. The radar scanner is mast mounted and was serviced in May 2003.

Equipped with both 12vdc and 110 vac sytems with the repsective breaker panels located at the chart table. The 12 volt system has 12 circuts with push buttom breakers and 6 with fuses. The 110 volt system has 4 circuts with breakers and a reverse polarity indicator. There is a Heart Freedom 10 inverter with 50 amp battery charger and a Heart Link 2000-R remote panel. 110 volt power is 30 amp service and 50' 30 amp power cord.

Sails and Sail Handling
The mast is a double spreader Kemp spar, deck stepped, with 1x19 s/s standing rigging, running rigging is braided dacron, and the majority of the sail control lines lead to the cockpit and 2 banks of sheet stoppers on either side of the companionway. Harken roller furling system for the 110% r/f headsail. Mainsail has 3 sets reef points.

Hull and Deck
The hull is solid FRP construction with foam cored stringers for additional stiffness. The rudder is also FRP with internal s/s blade and rudder post. A modern underbody with external iron keel. There are 316 grade s/s studs threaded into the keel and secured to the hull with s/s nuts and washers and s/s channels to distribute the load. The deck is foam cored fiberglass, solid fiberglass in areas of high load and stress. The hull/deck marriage is a shoe box type, chemically sealed then secured with s/s fasteners through the teak rub rail and joint.The interior of the joint was then fiberglassed over making for a water tight seal. There are large Lewmar opening deck hatches over the forward and aft cabins affording a second method of egress in keeping with ABYC standards, and additional hatches as well as both fixed and opening portlights offer good ventilation and daylight. The chainplates are secured to fiberglass flanges in the hull. On deck the chainplates are fairly well inboard affording both a close sheeting angle for upwind performance as well as safe and unencumbered passage along the weather decks. Forward is a double anchor roller assembley and Vetus manual windlass. Stainless steel bow pulpit and stern rail, aluminum stanchions and bases, double lifelines. Steering is a Whitlock pedestal with push/push cables in conduit to a heavy duty sterering quadrant. Single lever throttle/shift lever on the pedestal and binnical mounted Ritchie SP-5 compass. There is a teak cockpit grate and (2) 1-1/2" cockpit drains, Treadmaster nonskid, teak toerail. The dodger and mainsail cover were new in March 2002, bimini w/zipppered connector new in 2004, and the liferaft was recertified in Nov. 2006. In 2004 the rudder was removed and the fiberglass and coring was removed and then completely rebuilt and reinstalled.

Powered by a Volvo 2003 28hp 3-cylinder diesel and 2-blade 17" bronze propeller on a 1-3/8" s/s shaft. Engine access is gained from the front or by removing a panel on the walk-thru into the aft cabin. New raw water pump in 1999 and oil pressure and water temperature gauges were added. Jack Rabbitt Marine designed and installed the energy management system, including the inverter, alternator and charging system. It was designed for future consideration of a wind generator and/or solar panels.

Built to withstand the rigors of the North Sea, Westerlys are built to Loyds Registry of Shipping standards and this vessel carries that certificate. In 1998 the bottom was stripped and epoxy coated before applying Micron CSC ablative bottom paint. "CLOUD NINE" is hauled and dry stored the majority of the year, and gets launched each winter for about 3 months for the current owners to enjoy locally. The bottom was last painted 12/05, was touched up 1/08 just prior to launching . Equipped for extended cruising and live aboard, there are spares for most systems as well as tools, original standing rigging set, Baja filter, spare engine alternator, sea water pump, hose clamps, fasteners, lubricants, etc., etc. Too many spares to list here. "CLOUD NINE" is in turnkey condition and ready for new owners.
