Remarks Launched the first time in 2001 this Wesmac 38 is at once as comfortable and practical as she is well equipped. She provides comfortable cruise speeds in the 16 - 17 knot range with a 22 knot top end. Galley down layout with stall shower, and island queen in the Master Stateroom. Large bright and airy salon with two oversized settees. Generator, reverse cycle air conditioning are just some of the other pluses to this boat.
CALLISTO is a smooth running quiet and handsome downeast style power boat with nice sight lines from the helm when underway. She has been lightly used and represents a good opportunity in the downeast market.
Accommodations Accommodates up to six in a single stateroom galley down configuration. Finished in varnished mahogany with a varnished teak and holly sole. Superb natural light and ventilation with 4 opening ports with screens and one large hatch in the trunk cabin, the salon/wheelhouse area has a number of windows including sliding windows with screens. There is good artificial lighting with swivel style reading lamps at all berths and settees as well as overhead dome style lamps. Starting forward is the master stateroom with a true island queen berth 5' by 6'-4" with drawer storage and some bin type storage under. Above the berth the hull is lined with varnished mahogany ceilings and there is a full length storage shelf P&S. Aft in the stateroom there is a bureau to starboard with 4 drawers and a large hanging locker to port. Aft and to starboard is the head with separate stall shower with sep. sump pump. The head is fitted with a Vacuflush MSD plumbed to the holding tank, generous vanity with stainless steel sink with H&C pressure water and good storage. Opposite the head is the U shaped galley with abundant storage and counter space, Force 10 electric cooktop, convection microwave, large Novacool dual voltage refrigerator/freezer and large sink with H&C pressure water. Up three steps to the Salon and helm area. The helm area is to starboard and is fitted with a bench seat below which there is storage. All of the operational controls for the vessel are here along with the switch panels and navigational electronics. A sliding side door make access to the side decks convenient for the helmsman while overhead hatches provide plenty of light and ventilation. Across to port is a chart table with flip top to storage and "Navigators" bench seat with storage under. Aft of the helm/navigation area are two 7'+ long bench seats with storage below. Aft of the starboard settee is an end table with drawers under. The seats can be made out into larger double berths. The salon opens via double sliding mahogany doors to the full width cockpit. Out on deck the vessel is simply but attractively finished with two tone decks and white gloss PVC rub and toe rails, no teak that needs to be varnished annually.
