Turnkey family sport boat!

The 25 ft. Wellcraft NOVA 250 is a 1978 cuddy cabin sport run-a-bout. She is a high performance single-screw, I/O, gasoline powered vessel designed for coastwise and limited offshore family cruising. Her hull design incorporates flare conventional bow with anchoring platform, moderate “v” entry tapering aft along hard chines to a moderate “V” aft section. A modern windshield envelops the helm position and tapers along the port and starboard side around a large open, but protected self-bailing cockpit. Many possibilities, lots of extra canvas for this boat!

Accommodations: Overnight accommodations are provided for two people in two side-by-side bunks or one large V-berth. Interior layout includes V-berth and hideaway marine toilet under berth. Other interior features include vinyl covered cushions, access to chain locker, under-berth stowage, mirror, teak trim, four windows, sunlight/escape hatch, padded ceilings, padded side rails, 12-volt lighting, and lockable companionway door.

Galley Equipment: None.

Electronic and Navigational Gear: Helm features include forward/reverse throttle, wheel steering, Morse controls, tachometer, ammeter, oil pressure, water temperature, hour meter, RPM, sped, volt, tilt up, and tilt down. Other electronic and navigational gear includes Apelco VHF marine radio, Ritchie compass, and Heathkit depth finder.

Electrical: The vessel’s electrical system includes a 12-volt DC system only. The 12-volt DC system includes two Delco Marine batteries in two banks, battery isolator switch, and alternator charging system. DC over-current protection is accomplished through a six-gang fuse panel and a sub panel at the helm station.

Hull & Deck Gear: The Wellcraft NOVA 250 hull is constructed of molded fiberglass. The house, and decks are of fiberglass sandwich construction incorporating heavy fiberglass reinforced plastic with a marine plywood core. Supporting bulkheads, longitudinal supports and stringers are provided and are fiberglass covered laminated marine plywood, which adds to the internal framing and structuring of the vessel. The decks and house are secured to the hull by overlapping seams, bonded together and mechanically fastened. Deck layout includes deck at bow, foredeck, and large working aft cockpit with semi-enclosed helm and raised lounge area over aft engine compartment. Seating areas include captains seat, firstmates seat, and cushioned area over engine compartment. Other deck features include wash down decks, non-skid deck surfacing, two flush-mount rod holders, stainless steel bow rail, stainless steel grab rails, windshield, six steel/zinc deck cleats, two stainless steel stern eyes, stainless steel bow eye, raised teak-capped gunwales, teak slats under gunwales, two lazarettos, teak swimstep, teak foot rest at captains seat, teak map/magazine rack at firstmates seat, and drink holders. Anchor gear includes Danforth anchor at bow, teak bow pulpit, bow anchor mount, bow roller, chain locker, Danforth anchor at stern, anchor locker, 120’ of line, chain, and electric windlass. Safety gear includes six PFDs, fire extinguisher, Olin flare kit, horn, bell, docking line, and fenders. Canvas inventory includes bimini top, side window covers, retractable cover, and storage cover.

Equipment & Engine Details: Trailer package includes two-axle galvanized 1978 Trailrite trailer with brakes, lights, carpeted bunks, carpeted boat guides, hand crank boat winch, and hand crank trailer stand. The trailer weighs 1,450 lbs.

Engine Details: The power package includes a single gas I/O 350 HP 1978 454 MerCruiser 8-cylinder engine powered by a new stainless steel 120-gallon fuel tank. The boat cruises at 32 knots and has a maximum speed of 50 knots. She has a mere 60 hours on the engine. Other engine features include three-blade chrome racing prop, MerCruiser TRS outdrive, trim tabs, and raw water-cooling.
