MINT A wildly popular boat, the Viking 55 is a world-class tournament machine with a graceful profile, elegant accommodations and remarkable performance. Indeed, there are many who believe this is about as good as it gets in a modem sport fisherman. Built on a soft-riding modified-V hull with cored bullsides, a solid fiberglass bottom and reverse chines, the lush three-stateroom, galley-up floorplan of the Viking 55 is arranged with the master suite amidships, a roomy VIP stateroom forward and two full heads-both with separate stall showers. A washer/dryer is standard in the companionway, and a dinette is located forward in the spacious 200-sq.-ft. salon. Outside, the large cockpit is fitted with a bait-prep center, freezer, two in-deck baitwells, fishbox, and direct access to the spacious engine room. The massive flybridge, with it's wraparound helm console and cockpit overhang, provides guest seating for a small crowd. Optional 1,200-hp MAN diesels will cruise the Viking 55 Convertible at an honest 33 knots and reach a top speed of around 37 knots-impressive performance for a 55-footer and the best in her class by a wide margin.
