Leaving the cockpit area and moving forward and down the companionway steps is the main salon with dining area to port, which is furnished with a large rosewood dining table accompanied by C-shaped, cushioned seating (New 2005). Adjacent to the dining area, starboard side, is the navigation table with large chart table with storage inside and large pilot seat. Entertainment consists of Kenwood CD auto changer KDC-504 and Kenwood cassette receiver.
Leaving the main salon area and going forward through the corridor are port and starboard staterooms, furnished with over and under berths. The lower berths have drawers below; there are also hanging lockers. There are two (2) opening port lights in the port and starboard staterooms. Both staterooms have separate en-suite baths with showers and Jabsco manual flush heads. There are opening hatches and opening port lights in both en-suite baths. The chain locker can be accessed through the starboard head forward bulkhead hatch.
The galley area is located starboard side and is accessed from the main salon aft, starboard side and stepping down. Further aft is a large working Corian countertop with a drop-in storage compartment and storage cabinetry and drawers.
Going further aft down the starboard corridor is the aft stateroom furnished with double berth to the portside. There is also a single berth positioned athwartship, along the base of the transom, and a sitting chair built-in between the portside berth and starboard side cabinetry bulwarks. There is also a desk and stool on the starboard side. There are two (2) port and starboard opening port lights and an opening hatch above. The aft stateroom has an en-suite bath with vanity with sink bowl, shower stall with opening hatch above and a Jabsco manual flush toilet.

Cockpit and Helm Station The teakwood helm station console is located forward portside of the cockpit inside the open pilothouse, and is equipped with a teak steering wheel with cable steering, "Morse" type single lever clutch and throttle control and "Volvo-Penta" engine gauges.
The engine gauges include VDO tachometer, VDO engine oil pressure gauge. VDO engine cooling water temperature gauge, VDO air charge gauge, VDO engine hour meter, VDO gear oil pressure gauge and VDO voltmeter gauge.
Communication and navigation electronics include Furuno radar, B & G Network Tack instrument, B & G Network wind instrument, B & G Network electronic compass, B & G Network Quad, B & G GPS, B & G Network VHF radio transceiver, Com Nav 2001 automatic pilot, ComNav rudder angle indicator, Raytheon Ray model # 430 loudhailer and Echo Pilot forward looking sounder.
The cockpit is fitted with open-type pilothouse with three windshields and port and starboard side windows. The center windshield includes a Clearview screen to allow better visibility in poor conditions. There are port and starboard cockpit seats with a lot of storage beneath and an aft seat with opening hatch which accesses the aft stateroom.
Deck Equipment Anchor: "CQR" 20 kg. anchor. And "Danforth" 45 lb. anchor.
Anchor Chain and Anchor Line: 1/2 inch steel anchor chain with 300 feet of 3/4 inch nylon anchor line. One (1) 200 feet of 3/8 inch steel anchor.
Anchor Windlass: "Muir" 12 vdc electric anchor windlass with capstan wrapping drum and wildcat. Equipped with foot touch pads and cockpit remote control for dropping and weighing anchor. S/S channels for chain leads to windlass.

Hull Construction "Blue Nomad" is, and always has been, registered "in class" Germanischer Lloyds. She has been regularly inspected by their surveyors and all their recommendations have been complied with after inspection. She is, of course, of soft chine construction, with encapsulated lead ballast inside the keel. The vessel is powered by a "Volvo Penta" diesel engine and is operated from the center cockpit with hydraulic wheel steering and lever clutch and throttle controls. The helm station is located in the portside forward cockpit area inside the open pilothouse. Material: Hull, decks and superstructure are constructed of welded plated steel.
Exterior Hull: Hull has blue "Awl-Grip" painted finish with red anti-foul bottom paint.
Portlights: Vessel's natural ventilation is through twelve (12) opening port lights.
Hatches: There are six (6) "Goiot" opening hatches and one (1) wooden hatch.
Bulkheads: Athwartships reinforcement welded plated steel bulkheads welded to the hull.
Stringers: Main hull stiffness provided by longitudinal steel stringers.
Bilges: Deep (below decks) bilge area provides the area for most boat systems and tankage. .
Chain Locker: Vessel is fitted with chain locker located in forepeak fitted with drain scupper and hawse pipe. Chain locker accessed through starboard side head facility thru forward bulkhead hatch.
Electrical Equipment D.C. System:
Voltage: 12 and 24 volt systems. Yacht is basically 24v on the dc side - all electronics are 12v and the 12v supply to electronics is isolated and protected from spikes
Batteries: Type: Four (4) marine grade 8-D batteries for engine cranking, generator engine cranking and house batteries. Batteries are "Gel-Cel" batteries. Two (2) batteries located in battery storage compartment below main salon deck center-line and two (2) are located in battery storage compartment below dining table.
Main Battery Switch: Type: "Guest" battery rotary selector switches. Number: Two (2).
Circuit Breaker Panel: 24 VD Cover current Protection: The DC panel is equipped with DC volts, load amps and charge amps monitoring gauges. There is one (1) main breaker and 31 circuit breakers for pump motors, appliances and main engine ignition. Location: Located in the main salon mounted inside of port side aft bulkhead panel door.
Charging Systems: One (1) 24 volt belt driven alternator on main engine.
Generator: Onan 8kw generator (complete overhaul during refit)
Main Breaker: The 230 vac and 110 vac panel has (14) breakers plus main 230 vac breaker. Panel equipped with ac, volts, a.c. amperes and hertz monitoring gauges and also 110 v.a.c. monitoring gauges. There is also a rotary switch for starting, stopping and pre-heating generator engine. Location: Main salon a.c. circuit breaker panel.
Outlets: Various A.C. outlets available throughout vessel.
Mechanical Equipment Throttle and Clutch Controls: Morse type single lever throttle and clutch controls mounted on steering pedestal.
Engine Mounts and Beds: Main engine beds are heavy steel longitudinal stringers with steel motor mount pads. In conjunction, adjustable motor mounts are bolted to the stringers and are used to adjust the prop shaft alignment as well as secure the engine to the hull stringer structure.
Propeller: 3-blade bronze propeller. Hydraulically driven prop - eliminates problem of water coming in a stuffing box
Rudder: Steel rudder stock with keel skeg.
Bilge Pumps: (2) "Rule" 2000 gph bilge pumps with automatic float switch Manual Guzzler bilge pump with pump handle in cockpit port side lazarette storage compartment.
Bilge pump valve system in engine room to evacuate water from watertight compartments.
Sails and Rigging "Spar Craft" aluminum main mast and boom and "Spar Craft" aluminum mizzen mast and boom. Ketch rigged with two headsails. Main and mizzen mast are stepped on deck. Mast height was measured at 63'6".
Winches: Two (2) "Lewmar" # 65 main halyard winches for forward headsail sheets. "Barlow" # 19 mizzen halyard winch. Two (2) "Goiot" main wire rope halyard winches. "Arco" # 7 winch on aft cabin top starboard side. Two (2) "Lewmar" # 48 self tailing winches for aft headsail sheets. Port and starboard "Arco" # 7 davit winches. Two "Lewmar" # 30 mizzen halyard winches. Two "Lewmar" 44 headsail sheet winches.
