Broker's Comment Valiant Yachts came to the forefront of the "must have" list for cruising yachts with their benchmark Valiant 40. Then followed several other successful models including the 47 of which Lindisfarne is hull #117 (built in Texas). The Valiant 47 is a performance bluewater cruising sailboat which was specifically designed to maximize safety, comfort and speed. With proven performance spanning three decades, Valiant Yachts continues to be the choice of serious sailors who cruise the oceans of the world.
Lindisfarne's owners are her sole owners and chose their boat because of the Valiant reputation for building a fast safe passagemaker. The boat has never let them down. In their own words "this boat is like a racehorse; when the wind builds, she's off and running, in her element. She is reliable, quick, comfortable and takes good care of her captain and crew". She has served them well: she has been in turn a haven, a home, a summer cottage with an ever changing view, and a racer-cruiser garnering her share of awards in yachting rallies for Line Honors and Best in Class. She is easy to sail shorthanded and at the dock, wherever that may be, she never fails to attract admirers.
Lindisfarne is in excellent condition and has been professionally maintained throughout her life. Maintenance records and logs are available to serious prospects. Lindisfarne is available for co-brokerage to qualified brokers on a 50/50 commission split. Contact the listing broker Jonathan Hutchings at Annapolis Yacht Sales South.
Accommodation The interior Cherry joinery of Lindisfarne is fabulous, imparting a warm glow to the accommodations. Up forward is the owners cabin with double Pullman style berth to starboard. There is substantial storage as well as a hanging locker to port and a seat. The en suite head, to starboard, completes the cabin. Moving aft the passage is offset to port with an L-shaped settee to starboard and straight settee/seaberth to port. Both settees convert to double berths and are equipped with lee-cloths. The large centre-line drop leaf table folds down on either side of the mast. There are ample bookshelves and storage areas throughout the salon. To starboard and aft of the settee is the galley. This is U shaped, with substantial preparation area. Aft of the galley is the navigation station. Behind the navigator's seat is a wet locker. Further aft and to starboard of the companionway steps is a door in the bulkhead giving easy access to the engine room which also houses the generator and has storage space for tools and spare parts. There is ample work space around the engine. To port of the companionway steps is an en-suite guest cabin with double bed, dresser and hanging locker. The washing machine is located beneath the berth. Forward of the guest cabin is an en-suite head with separate shower stall and basin, which can be accessed from the guest cabin. The aft head has a second door into the salon, allowing it to be used as a sea head without disturbing the guest cabin.
