Telstar Charters is much more than just a boat…Telstar Charters is an established charter outfit with a great waterfront location (lease), website marketing program and clientele list. Telstar Charters markets the waters outside of Fort Bragg as a desirable sportfishing and sightseeing destination. Sportfishing charters include salmon, rockfish, crab, albacore and combination trips for large groups. The vessel makes two trips per day. Sightseeing Charters capitalize on the migration of the California Gray Whale and the abundance of resident marine animals (dolphins, sea lions, marine birds and sharks). The vessel is a fiberglass boat built by Thermodyne in Marysville, Washington in 1969. The hull and equipment have been well maintained over the life of the vessel. A repower was completed in 1995. Accommodations: Overnight accommodations are provided for eight passengers in four berths. Other interior accommodations include one Thru-hull head and a rod rack that is located on the ceiling. Electrical: Four 6D batteries charge the 12-volt and 110-volt electrical systems. Other electrical features include a 165-amp alternator charging system, 30-amp shore power inlet, ship-to-shore power cord (fifty feet) and a generator. Water systems include one plastic 75-gallon freshwater tank, one plastic 15-gallon holding tank, four bilge pumps (both manual and automatic) as well as a hot water tank and a pressurized water system. Hull & Deck Gear: Hull and deck gear includes a swim ladder, bait tank, fish holds, rod holders, downriggers, light tackle, rockfish rods, tuna rods and salmon rods. Anchor gear includes one 20-pound anchor, 30-foot of chain, 500-foot + of ¾ “ of rode, a bow roller, anchor locker and a windlass. Safety equipment includes three life rafts (two 15-man, one 20-man Elliot inflatable), three fire extinguishers (two type A, one type B), flare kit, first aid kit, docking line, and fenders. Other safety equipment includes hand flares, three flashlights and a hand-held horn. Equipment & Engine Details: Engine Details: This vessel was repowered in 1995 with a newly remanufactured 1991 480 horsepower 8V92 Detroit Silver Series diesel inboard engine. Other engine details include a 30 x 30 prop, trolling valve, and a new replaced turbo. The boat cruises at 10-knots and has a maximum speed of 12-knots. There are two fiberglass over steel 300-gallon fuel tanks and the engine has 8,000 hours.
