Sails and Rigging o Directly in front of the center aft command station are 13 Danfoss sail-control joysticks. o The 13 joysticks control: the port and starboard genoa and staysail winches; the genoa and staysail furlers, the main sheet winch, traveller, halyard and topping lift; port and starboard running backstays; and the spinnaker pole topping lift. o Just above the joysticks, the hydraulic isolation switches can isolate the relevant system in the event of a problem. This panel also contains the centerboard up and down control, the backstay control, and the vang control. o Genoa control is on a Reckman Furler o Staysail is also on a Reckman Furler o Mainsail in-boom furling was designed and fabricated by Southern Spars and has been proven.
Sail Cloth: The genoa, staysail, and main sail are made by Doyle Sails using a custom made fabric, new in late 2003. This fabric allows superior shape retention and an impressive 40 percent weight saving. Twelve (12) Seaway captive hydraulic halyard and sheeting winches, as well as, four (4) on deck, custom hydraulic Harkin winches, the largest winches ever built by Harkin.
Mast and Rigging: A new Rondal rig was fitted in January, 1997. This rig is a state-of-the-art, aluminum spar fitted with navtec rod rigging on a 4 spreader extrusion. The new rig is 154' overall with a basic sail plan of some 8,250 square feet, as follows: I = 144ft (44.00 m) P= 128ft (39.30 m) I= 48 ft (14.70 m)

Remarks This vessel is not showable or for sale to US Citizens in US waters. Susan Puleo created for CORSTA V one of the world's most uniquely designed yacht interiors. The theme is an architecturally balanced, carefully blended style of antique and upmarket handcrafted furniture with coordinated colors and fabrics throughout. The main wood used throughout the boat is Bubinga, (Southern African rosewood) accented with finishes of satin and high gloss. Bubinga crown moldings and baseboards throughout have been specially hand crafted on all the curves and bends. Doors are Rosewood with inlaid ebonized Kiaat along with fluted columns at each door of the guest cabins. Ceilings and walls are carefully matched upholstered panels throughout. Gold plated hinges on all doors and gold plated fiddles on cupboards and shelves. Semi precious stones on comers are bordered by gold plate and there are custom designed carpets throughout. The yacht offers maximum living space, state of the art systems and engineering and a comfortable yet fast passage. CORSTA V is a beautiful vessel, functional, practical and well balanced between contemporary and conservative. Nothing has been spared in the latest hydraulic technology as well as in the electric and mechanical systems, thus making her "user friendly" and simple to operate. The tall rig gives the blend between racing and cruising for very fast passages with the winged keel and centerboard for stability. CORSTA V must be seen to be believed.
