Intro Comments

CABARET is a highly semi custom sport motor yacht offering attractive lines, proven performance, comfort, exceptional design and build integrity and luxurious finish. She was built by one of New Zealand's premier builders, Salthouse Marine Ltd., a family owned company recognized for world class yachts.

Designed by Bob Salthouse, the 65 is capable of extended offshore passages. Many owners cruise their Salthouse yachts offshore including trips from New Zealand to Australia and Fiji. Built and certified to Lloyds Registry standards, each layer of the composite FRP sandwich construction is hand laminated. What sets Bob Salthouse designs apart from most production motoryachts is their sea kindly, quiet, fuel efficient hulls, state of the art construction and innovative interior arrangements.

There are many features CABARET offers not available on competitive yachts. Examples are al fresco dining area, large enclosed flybridge/sky lounge accessed via internal staircase, 13' long cockpit with pocket sliding doors to the swim platform, aft galley with retractable sliding picture window and on deck head in addition to master and guest heads below.

Interior Layout

Starting aft from the transom there is a 13' long cockpit with teak decking, varnished cap rail and fully removable outside dining table.

Forward of the cockpit is an al fresco U-shaped settee around a large dining table. Under the settee is a slide-out refrigerated drawer. Adjacent to the cabin entrance is an on deck head with shower and additional locker. A row of counter high lockers, with icemaker and wet bar, provides separation between the cockpit and al fresco dining area that has a fully removable Eisenglass enclosure with built-in screens.

The entrance door to the main living area and galley is adjacent to the on deck head. As you enter the cabin there is a stairwell to the sky lounge to starboard and U-shaped galley to port. Forward of the galley is the salon with long settee to port. To starboard is a hideaway TV, bar counter with storage below and a large deep freeze in a varnished teak cabinet. There is visibility through multiple windows in the forward area of the salon. The aft window in the galley can be lowered for easy access to the al fresco dining area.

The sleeping accommodations are forward of the salon. A centerline passageway provides access to two guest cabins, guest head and the master cabin forward. The master cabin has a large centerline queen berth and en suite head with separate stall shower. The larger of the two guest cabins is to port with Pullman double berth. To starboard is an additional guest/crew cabin with upper and lower berths. The guest head also has a stall shower.
One of the standout features of the Salthouse design is the sky lounge, which is both a helm and navigation center for operating the yacht and an additional skylounge with full settee and table. Sliding doors at the aft end of the sky lounge open to an outside seating area. There are also engine controls for backing down when docking or fishing.
