With its rich European Beech interior paneling, it is both easily maintained and much brighter inside than most other boats with darker lumbers. Forward is a generous queen size island berth with a lifting gas-assisted platform allowing easy access to the storage below, 2 large hanging lockers, several storage bins on each side of the stateroom, and 2 huge dresser drawers beneath the berth offer abundant storage. There is a color TV, as well as reading and overhead lamps to add proper illumination. CruiseAir SMXII AC with reverse heat handles the climate control. The stateroom door is a double-swing door in which you can open just the door, or fold it over and eliminate the entire bulkhead for an even more open and airy feel. The head is equipped with a roomy enclosed shower stall, a desirable fresh water Vacu-Flush head system, a wrap around mirrored sink w/large medicine cabinet, a Tank Watch holding tank level monitor, and GFI 110V outlets for appliances. The huge L-shaped dinette is covered in butter soft blue Australian leather, and quickly and easily converts into a huge double berth with an adult sized bunk berth above. This allows comfortable sleeping for up to five adults. A bar area includes drawers with holders built in for bottles and typical glassware. The fully complimented galley features a roomy "L" shaped counter, has Beech cabinets, a two burner electric range, a microwave oven, a 4 cu. ft. Norcold 12V/110V refrigerator/freezer, a large sink with hot/cold pressure water, and a built-in Black and Decker coffee maker. Fantastic storage space over the countertop in locking bins, as well as many drawers and deep fiddled shelves below the countertop. Counter features a unique built-in drain board for convenience.
Exterior
This rare Enclosed Hardtop 4000 is custom fit with a custom ‘soft’ bulkhead with an EZ2CY swinging door offers a whopping 28,000 BTU of air conditioning or heat via two additional CruiseAir SMXII marine AC units outside under the hardtop, and oh boy, does it make a difference! There is an L-shaped settee to port with a removable fiberglass table, a double width helm seat, and a wetbar w/ 12V frig. The helm is extremely well laid out and all electronics are flush mounted for a clean and clutter free console. The optional teak decks (both at the helm level as well as the cockpit) provide greatly improved footing and a classic look and feel. For convenience, there is cockpit carpeting under the hardtop in the helm area. There are 2 cockpit in-deck insulated fish boxes with a macerator discharge, a lighted glass-faced livewell with both flow-thru and recirculating modes, a large transom door, and concealed storage compartments all around the cockpit coamings. Washdowns and a cockpit shower, thermostatically controlled cockpit freezer, 12V cockpit refrigerator, and a wetbar for added convenience. The foredeck features a double anchor locker forward with a spigot to rinse your rode after retrieval. The Maxwell electric anchor windlass is operated from either the helm or the additional on-deck foot control buttons. A welded SS bow rail makes going forward easy, as does Riviera’s very aggressive yet easy-on-bare-feet non-skid decking found on all exterior walking surfaces of this fine yacht. The oversized fiberglass swim platform (w/ boarding ladder) is so strong that when stepping onto it, you’d think it was ‘glassed into place.
Electronics
Azimuth electronic compass, Ritchie 5” no-spin conventional compass, a mighty Northstar 961 Chartplotter w/ Map Tech software cartography, a Furuno 1850DF color GPS/plotter/fishfinder, a Standard Horizon DSC RAM mike VHF w/hailer, a Standard Horizon digital depth finder, Furuno 1942 10” screen 72 mile open array 6KW radar, and a Robertson AP-22 autopilot. Quite an expensive package, definitely best of the best. Mechanical
Powered by the highly reliable and desired Caterpillar 3208’s with 435 HP each, an 9kw Kohler genset provides the 110V when not connected to shore via the 50A shore service cord. For reliability and precise control there are Hynautic hydraulic shift & throttle controls, ACR remote spotlight for safety at night, Hynautic hydraulic steering for ease of maneuvering, and a Glendenning electronic synchronizer to keep the engines purring smoothly and efficiently. ** Unknown to many, Riviera incorporates some very important structure and safety features, such as: 1) There is a structural ‘crash’ bulkhead between the master stateroom and the anchor locker for safety in case of an unexpected collision. 2) There are water tight bulkheads fore and aft of the engine room, thus separating the bilge into three separate areas, improving bilge pump efficiency as well as trapping any intrusive water in one area which minimizes the likelihood of a sinking situation. 3) The deck and hull are sealed with 3M 5200, through bolted every few inches (this is where most builders stop!), and then the entire inner perimeter of the hull-to-deck joint gets two laminates of fiberglass cloth, virtually creating a one piece boat, eliminating all squeaking and creaking found in all boats which are simply bolted. 4) Rudder arms are drilled for the supplied pins to lock the rudders dead straight. Not only does this help if alignment is needed, but it also serves to keep your rudders straight if steering is lost and you’re forced to steer with only the engines. 5) This boat also has the option of a ‘foam filled forward bilge’, eliminating the possibility of holding any water, while at the same time baffling the typical water noise from below, whether while running, or while at rest.
