Serenade is a great example of the Explorer model True North 38. The Flag blue Awl Grip hull is lovely and this boat is in excellent condition. Serenade is in the water and ready for your late summer cruise. She was reconditioned by the True North factory team last winter. She is well equipped with dual reverse cycle air/heat systems, upgraded Yanmar 440hp diesel, stainless steel refrigerator, ultrasuede fabrices, search light,extended bow rail, and a full compliment of electronics including GPS chartplotter, radar, depth, VHF radio, and Autopilot.
Accommodations
BELOW DECKS is a large vee berth with insert. A curved varnished cherry bulkhead and varnished cherry hull ceiling strips add a nice touch of wood below. To starboard is a head with shower area and to port are drawers and a hanging locker. The HELM/BRIDGEDECK area is exceptionally large for a boat of this size and includes a helm station to starboard with full size galley aft on starboard. To port there is a double passenger bench with reversing backrest and aft to port is a convertible dinette which becomes a double berth quickly. A dinette table is varnished cherry and lowers electrically. The pilothouse and the fwd cabin are both air conditioned. The COCKPIT is aft of the bridgedeck area and is a very large.The cockpit is open to the pilothouse when canvas curtains are removed which makes the spaces ideal for entertaining and fun on the water. Open both transom doors and enjoy your porch on the water.
Numerous drawers, lockers, and bins provide ample storage. Four opening ports, four deck hatches, an opening windshield, and side windows allow wonderful air flow through out. Lighting is with new halogen lamps controlled by dimmers. There are also reading lights below, a reading light by helm, and a light switch just inside the cockpit provides light in the galley even when all the lights are off. Low level night lights around the cockpit.
Galley
The galley is located up in the pilothouse so everyone can enjoy the sights and each other's company. This is the ideal arrangement for entertaining. Mechanical and Plumbing
Yanmar 440 hp includes dual Racor fuel filters with water sensor alarm, and large bronze/glass sea strainer. Access is easy through electric operated hatch. Engine control is single lever electronic. Exhaust is discharged under water for fume free ride when underway with bypass when idling. Shaft is coupled to Aquadrive anti-vibration system. Engine room is well insulated for quiet running. Steering is hydraulic with power assist. BOW THRUSTER for easy handling around the docks.
Plumbing includes a Sealand vacuum full size marine toilet system with Tankwatch monitor and Tankmaster Discharge pump controller. Three electric bilge pumps with high water alarm for engine room. Both fresh and salt water washdown systems with spigots in the cockpit and salt water washdown also on foredeck for anchor wash. Hot/cold pressure water at shower, head sink, galley, and cockpit shower. 12gal stainless hot water tank heats from AC and engine heat exchanger.
