From the sure hand of naval architect W.I.B. Crealock comes this bulletproof bluewater cruiser of the first order. Examine her construction by Pacific Seacraft and you'll have no doubt she's a long-distance voyager, capable of handling the world's oceans. Double-flanged hull-to-deck joints, a canoe stern for added reserve buoyancy, and a skeg-hung rudder are just a few examples of the seriousness of purpose designed into every 34. DO BE has served her owners well as far south as Brazil and has thousands upon thousands more sea miles to sail. Mechanically, she is in top condition. Her Yanmar engine had a complete dealer overhaul in 2007, her transmission was removed and rebuilt with new bearings and seals and her engine compartment and bilge are clean and odor-free. Last year, she got a new dripless shaft-seal, a new Spurs line cutter on her shaft, a new Campbell Sailor prop, and a new cutlass bearing. A new custom dodger, installed this year and utilizing heavy-duty Stratoglas and stainless steel handholds, connects via a separate panel to the bimini. She comes with two mounted Kyocera solar panels, Mermaid air conditioning, a Muir electric windlass with remote control, and Technautics refrigeration. Belowdecks, her unmarred teak interior extends from the cabin sole all the way to the headliner, accented by all-bronze opening ports, while providing 6 feet, 4 inches of standing headroom.
Accommodations
The forward cabin features a large double V-Berth (convertible to a double) measuring 6 feet, 6 inches long by 7 feet wide. There are book shelves to port and starboard with removable fiddles, as well as storage lockers and a double hanging locker, one side of which houses the air conditioning compressor. The head compartment is to port, and has its own storage lockers above and below the vanity, as well as a teak-framed mirror and molded-in shower pan covered by a teak grate. The main salon has 6-foot, 6-inch port and starboard settees, each capable of providing snug sea berths, with the port settee converting to a wide double berth. No mechanical systems or tankage are beneath the settees, so there is ample room for storage of provisions or spare equipment, as there also is behind the settee seatback. Water tanks are located forward under the V-berth and aft under a quarter-berth. A dedicated forward facing nav station, measuring 31 inches by 40 inches wide, is located to starboard and utilizes the head of the starboard quarter-berth for its seating. The quarterberth itself measures 7 feet, 7 inches long by 34 inches wide. 10 Bronze Opening Ports with Screens and OceanAir Shades Optional Teak Interior Cabin Sides Groco Model K Head (Rebuilt 2008) Two Bomar Offshore Hatches Removable Drop-Leaf Teak Salon Table Optional Starboard Stainless Steel Grab Post and Eye-Level Teak Shelf Over Nav Desk with Hinged Lid and Storage Locker Bulkhead Mounted Clock and Barometers

Comments
DO BE has had four owners in her 18 years, the most recent of whom have clearly worked hard at protecting their investment. They've already done much of the "heavy lifting" on the mechanical side, so concern about engine and running gear age shouldn't be an issue. They've also installed upgrades, such as solar panels, and renewed such key canvas items as the dodger. All in all, DO BE puts her new owner way ahead of the pack when it comes to finding a sound bluewater passagemaker.
