The O'Day 40 is a fast cruising yacht with many great features. The main salon is exceptionally bright, airy and spacious. The engine, interior and equipment on Majestic are all in excellent condition. The bottom was epoxy coated in 2002. Air conditioning is a nice upgrade - unusual on a boat of this age. Electronics are basic but functional and allow the new owner to make whatever installations he feels necessary. Majestic has been either freshwater-lake sailed or dry sailed in the Chesapeake Bay. New canvas, good sails, dinghy and outboard complete the picture on a boat whose message is: "I have been well cared for".
Vessel Walkthrough The interior of Majestic is pristine. The wooden floors are varnished to a shine and the rest of the boat is neat, showing that it has been well cared for and lightly used. The galley is to port of the companionway, with a large icebox with refrigerator unit in the aft counter, storage above, the stove along the hull, forward of that, the double sink which is set into a diagonal locker and a narrow counter top, with drawers below. To starboard is the large chart table with a stool that pivots so that it can be pushed out of the way when not in use. Starboard aft and under the cockpit is the master cabin with a large berth, a seat near the door, lots of storage and access to the engine. The salon has two settees, a u-shaped one to port and a straight one to starboard, with a set of drawers at the forward end. Both settees have storage above and behind. A table, amidships, folds up on either side so that it can be used from either settee. The v-berth is accessed via a small vestibule with the head to port and hanging locker to starboard. The v-berth has additional drawers on either side of the door as well as shelves along both hulls. The head consists of a vanity with basin, shower and storage and the head area. The current owners removed the head, and replaced it with a porta potti, which sits under a teak seat.
