The Ocean 58 Super Sport is a big, brawny, fishing machine with aggressive styling, outstanding accommodations, and exceptional performance. The flybridge features hard top with tuna tower, centerline helm station, three Murray captain's chairs, refrigerator with freezer, and guest seating on each side. The helm features a full complement of electronics including: Furuno Nav system, 72-mile radar, fish finder, GPS, auto pilot, compass, and chart plotter with East Coast mapping.
The 131-square feet of cockpit gives you more than enough workspace, and includes Murray fighting chair, outriggers, prep station with sink, live well, tackle locker, fish boxes, transom door, cockpit floodlights, saltwater wash down, and a cockpit freezer for all your catch. The foredeck includes dinghy davit, and bow pulpit with anchor and electric windlass.
The interior is large, open, and comfortable. The carpeted salon has an L-shaped settee with coffee table, two easy chairs, wet bar with ice maker, refrigerator, and liquor cabinet. Forward we the full galley port side with full size refrigerator, four-burner range with oven, microwave oven, upper and lower cabinets with lots of storage, and a solid surface counter top with stainless steel double sink. Starboard is a roomy dinette with wood table and built-in TV. There's lots of room to relax after a day of fishing and discuss the ones that got away while enjoying a cold beverage.
For overnight and extended fishing trips there are three staterooms, each with a full head compartment with shower. The master stateroom is aft with island queen berth, twin 6-drawer dressers, his & her hanging lockers, TV with VCR, accent lighting and ensuite head compartment. The forward VIP stateroom also has an island queen berth, two hanging lockers, TV, accent lighting, and private head with shower. The port side guest stateroom has upper & lower bunks, under berth storage, hanging locker, TV, accent lighting, and guest head with shower. Lots of room and first class accommodations makes the fishing all the more enjoyable.
Performance is provided by twin V12 MAN diesel engines generating 1000 horsepower each with a cruising speed of 28 knots and a top speed around 33 knots. Papa Bear has a Westerbeke 25 kw generator, reverse cycle HAC, engine room fire suppression, bridge controlled trolling gears, and even features a clothes wash and dryer.
