Accommodations
Entrance to the main salon is from the aft deck, through a large stainless and glass door with only four steps leading down to the salon. The first impression is a large open space of many windows, with a traditional teak interior with teak and holly cabin sole. Many of these windows actually open, to enjoy the breezes when weather permits. The overhead is also traditional white vinyl with varnished teak battens.

Traditional is a word that can be used often with this yacht with the galley, salon, dinette and lower station all in one area to allow all guests and crew to be in close proximity. You will not find any elliptical windows; high gloss woods or Euro design on board, this yacht will appeal a more timeless taste.
Galley
The galley, to port has upper and lower, Grunert Holding Plate refrigeration, running on a dual power source to run without the generator. These holding plates can keep these boxes cold much longer than a typical boat refrigerator, without running any power at all. The countertops are Corian for good looks and ease of care, both the four burner stove with oven, and the dishwasher, are stainless. No need to run the generator when doing a meal, the stove and oven are propane with dual tanks. After a meal or entertaining, the Miele dishwasher makes cleanup less of a chore, and there is plenty of storage areas to put things away.

  • GRUNERT Holdover plates refrigerator/freezer (dual condensing units 12V & 240V)

Master Stateroom
Aft is the full beam master stateroom. The centerline queen walk around berth has a padded headboard; there is lots of storage space, a large head with comfortably sized stall shower. All of the amenities have been considered to make long term cruising a comfortable option. A particularly nice feature is a stainless and glass door that leads to the aft cockpit.
Guest Staterooms
With only a few steps from the salon to the forward cabin area, frequent trips up and down a flight of stairs to the heads and cabins are not needed with this design. The VIP guest stateroom forward has a centerline queen berth, set up to make it easy to make the bed, and no ladder is needed to get in bed at night. Access to the head with stall shower is from the VIP or from the hall for use as a day head. The stacked washer and dryer is located in this area for ease of access.
Across from the head is a third guest stateroom, with upper and lower bunk berths, favored both by grandchildren and guests that do not want to share a bed. The upper berth will fold down, converting to a sofa.
Lower Helm Station
The lower station adds great versatility, to enjoy running the boat when the weather is not perfect. The electronics includes the desirable Furuno NavNet dual station system. To continue the traditional look the steering wheel is teak instead of stainless.
Hull & Deck
This is a sundeck style Motoryacht with a large aft deck with a hardtop. The decks are teak and there is built in seating with storage below in an L shaped bench. Full canvas side and stern enclosures will keep the sun out, or horseshoe zippers will open with screening. An icemaker and Wetbar on the back deck are convenient for enjoying this open, but shaded area. A few steps aft and down lead to the good sized cockpit, which is a great convenience for line handling, boarding from the dock to the swim platform, and swimming from the boat. In the cockpit is a steering station with engine controls, bow thruster control, and a steering wheel, making backing into a slip much easier. The flag blue hull was painted with Awlgrip in November of 2006.

Flybridge
The large flybridge with full Bimini enclosure has lots of seating area. The skipper has a helm seat with foot rest, and there is a second helm seat along side, so the mate, or maybe the Admiral, has good visibility like the skipper. The deck is teak for great nonskid qualities, and does not show as many dirty footprints as a fiberglass deck. The wrap around L shaped bench has plenty of storage. To starboard is a very ingenious bench that converts to a chaise style lounge. When underway, the aft backrest can be raised to stretch out facing forward, when at the dock, the forward backrest can be raised to stretch out facing aft and there is great storage below it.

Mechanical/Engine Room
Access to the engine room is through a door from the companionway leading to the master stateroom, no need to lift up heavy hatches or crawl in an inconvenient hole. Unlike most yachts of this size, there are two generators, a 17.5 kW with about 100 hours and a 5.5 kW with about 130 hours, with the smaller available when demand is light, or as a back up. Very impressive is the engine bed stringer system, welded with massive stainless steel leading to anti vibration mounts. Machinery is well laid out, and there is space to get all the way around the engines and generators. Special attention was paid to the location of sea strainers for ease of cleaning. The air conditioning system even has a back up sea water pump for a quick switch over in case of a problem.
There are four 4D dedicated batteries for the 24 volt bow thruster and windlass, dedicated batteries for the generators, four 8D dedicated engine starting 24 volt batteries and six 8d 12 volt batteries for the house systems. There are two chargers for these and an inverter/charger to get 110 volt power without running either of the two generators. All banks are monitored by a central monitoring system located at the lower helm. The 75’ long shore cable is set up with a Cablemaster system in the cockpit to retract the heavy cord with 12 volts instead of crew power. If at some marinas you might want to pull into a slip bow first, there is a second power inlet forward.

Broker's Notes
This boat is a Maritime 55 built by Novatec, not to be confused with a standard Novatec. Maritime used the Novatec as a base, and improved many of the systems, especially the electrical system, the batteries, the beefed up stainless steel engine mounts, added the steering station in the cockpit, redesigned the seating on the flybridge and aft deck. The heads are fresh water flush, but have salt water back up if water is low.
