ACCOMMODATIONS Sleeps six in three solid teak-staved cabins: Guest Cabin forward has a V-berth with filler, storage, including four drawers, under all bunks. Next aft to port is the Head Compartment with Jabsco toilet ('07); grey marble countertops; telephone-type shower; white Formica bulkheads; teak grate in sole and storage locker below and behind the counter. Opposite the forward head is a large hanging locker with back of the instrument panel access through the aft bulkhead.
Up to the Main Saloon with a fully-equipped inside Helm Station with telescoping chair to starboard and L-shaped settee to port with hi-low table (converts area into a double berth). The upholstery throughout was replaced in late 2008. A double row of overhead teak handrails provides security in a seaway. Screens are provided for all windows, and the curtains were replaced early in 2008.
Down three stairs to the aft Master Stateroom and ensuite Head Compartment. This stateroom features a centerline queen-sized berth; three large hanging lockers; desk with mirror; drawers and cabinets to starboard and opening windows with curtains. The ensuite Head Compartment has a tub/stall shower with seat; PAR toilet; grey marble sink countertops with storage below and above; opening hatch and window provide good ventilation and light to this area.
Two reverse cycle Cruiseaire air conditioning units provide heat and air conditioning throughout. REMARKS Salty Lady's owners have owned her since she was nearly new and have made many improvements over the years.
This good looking Monk 36 has a unique microwave oven stowing system whereby a worm-drive elevates the oven from under the galley counter when it is needed, thereby leaving more counter space when the oven is not being used.
Because the steps up to the aft cabin top had a rise that was more than that for most steps, two teak intermediary steps were added to make it more comfortable to go up and down the steps.
A fresh water tank was added that is dedicated for use by the freshwater deck washdown pump.
At the top of the mast is a state-of-the-art electrical discharge device providing extraordinary protection against lightning.
Because jellyfish can clog up the air conditioning cooling water intake, a special backflush pump was added to clear the line when needed.
Because the owners like to anchor out instead of staying at marinas, a large bank of golf cart batteries was installed to provide lots of eletrical power between charging cycles.
In the Fall of 2007, much of the exterior teak was painted out to simplify future maintenance. The color choice was Grand Banks beige, which goes very well with the remaining varnished teak.
