ACCOMMODATIONS In the interior layout of the vessel there are three decks. The pilothouse deck, the main deck and the lower deck. The pilothouse has a large dash forward with all the instrumentation. The engine instruments are here along with the navigation instruments. Next aft on the port side is the door out to the bridge deck and aft of this is an "L" shaped settee. Along the starboard side there is the stairway that leads down to the main deckhouse galley area. At the aft end of the pilothouse to port is the captain's cabin and aft to starboard is a fully enclosed head. The main deckhouse has a dining area forward followed by a door out to the side deck to starboard and the stairs up to the pilothouse. To port is the galley. Forward there is a counter followed by the door out to the port side deck. Aft is the refrigerator and stove. Inboard is the sink and additional counter. Aft of this is the salon. To port is an "L" shaped settee that runs along the port side and turns along the aft end of the house. Aft to port of the centerline is the door out to the aft deck. On the port side forward is the entertainment center followed by a desk and then the electrical distribution center. The lower deck is the accommodations deck. Forward there is a large head with shower all aft of the chain locker. Leading aft from here is a passage. To port and starboard are double staterooms. The passage leads aft from here and to port is the large master stateroom and to starboard is a head and then the stairway up to the main deckhouse. The master stateroom has a fully enclosed head forward with shower and aft is a double berth with drawers and lockers along the port side. There is also a working fireplace. To starboard is the passage to the engine room. Outboard to starboard is the laundry room. A watertight door leads to the engine room. The vessel has a single Caterpillar 3406 6-cylinder diesel engine. Also in this space is a Northern Lights 12kW generator and a Northern Lights 32kW generator. All the hydraulics for the stabilizers, steering and thrusters lead out from here. This area also has the main electrical distribution panel and the watermaker system. Aft of the engine room is the aft compartment access through a watertight bulkhead to the steering system. DESIGN & LAYOUT The vessel was designed by Sponberg Yacht Design of Newport, Rhode Island. This is a new design for construction in steel and the hull and the superstructure were constructed by Custom Steel Boats, Merritt, NC. The vessel is designed with a raked stem ending in a bulbous bow, round bilge with port and starboard hull fins with integral stabilizers, a single diesel and rounded stern. The hull is constructed of welded steel over 1 ½" x 1 ½" x ¼" steel angle frames on 18" centers and longitudinals. The hull has four watertight bulkheads, which divide the hull into five watertight spaces. The watertight compartments are located at the crash bulkhead, at the guest cabins, master stateroom, engine room and the steering compartment. The vessel also has one structural non-watertight bulkhead that is located at frame # 9. The keel of the vessel is comprised of a rectangular tube of welded steel. The decks are welded steel over 2" x 2" x 5/16" steel angle. The superstructure is welded 5083 aluminum alloy and all structural members are 5086-H111 aluminum alloy. The deckhouse to deck connection is welded to the main deck, foredeck and bulwarks by a Datacouple. The deck layout of the vessel is very simple and workable and there is a large foredeck and at the forward section is a raised forecastle deck. This has the Bollard's and the two anchor windlass. Below this is foredeck storage. Going aft there is a large open deck. To port is a crane for hoisting the vessel's boat and the boat stores here when shipped aboard. Centered aft on the foredeck are the steps going up to the bridge and then to port and starboard there is a step down to the side decks that run along either side of the deckhouse to the covered aft deck. Centered forward is a Dutch door leading into the salon. Forward to starboard is the companionway down to the engine room. Note: There is also a separate exit to from the engine room to the aft deck. Aft there is a door in the bulwarks that leads out to a large swim platform. The vessel also has an upper deck. Forward on this deck is the bridge/pilothouse with a walkaround exterior deck with "Portuguese Bridge." Aft is a large open deck with a canvas cover over it latched to a rigid aluminum frame. The working stack from the engine room is centered at the aft end of the pilothouse. HULL CONSTRUCTION - Topsides: Welded Steel
