Remarks

Whimsy is a well equipped Little Harbor 53 with an excellent layout for bluewater cruising.  She has an extensive electronics package, 8 Kw generator, reverse cycle air conditioning, and offshore holding plate refrigeration system.  Whimsy can easily be sailed shorthanded, utilizing the electric Stoway main and electric winches.  Like her sisterships, she has the benefit of the shoal draft fin keel with centerboard and a beautiful exterior profile.  The Little Harbor 53 is designed and built by the legendary Ted Hood, and considered one of his more successful designs.  She performs very well and offers an exceptional level of comfort below and on deck.  The exquisite 3 stateroom interior is varnished teak, finished to the highest standard.  Whimsy is offered at one third her current replacement cost, and is available for inspection on the north shore of Long Island, NY.

Introductory Comments

Whimsy is a classic Ted Hood designed Little Harbor performance cruising center cockpit yacht.  Little Harbors are recognized for their exquisite interior finish, exceptional strength, and classic exterior styling with graceful sheerline.  Like her sisterships, she offers a shoal keel with retractable centerboard.

Whimsy's layout is particularly well suited for passagemaking with proper sea berths in each cabin and a passageway galley.  All cabins and heads have stainless opening ports and there are multiple dorades and deck hatches.  Whimsy has a comprehensive offshore electronics package and also features 12 volt and 110 volt holding plate refrigeration.  On deck, Whimsy has a very comfortable center cockpit with walk through access from both side decks.  Her electric Stoway mainmast and four electric winches facilitate shorthanded cruising.
