Introduction

This is a very clean example of a cruising classic built by Kong & Halverson. This boat has, if fact, done the "loop" and the owners are especially happy that they chose Summertime over larger yachts. They equipped her for cruising and she has received exceedingly excellent maintenance. Both travel and maintenance records are meticulously documented. See our website for excerpts from the journey.

Accommodations

Summertime is a Sedan style trawler such that the forward stateroom is down and forward. This gives clear visibility from the lower station looking back off the transom of the boat.
Three guests can sleep in the main salon, one on the port settee and two in the convertible dinette to starbd. An enormous custom teak hanging locker provides extra storage for long distance cruising. Summertime is tastefully decorated throughout from the upholstry to the mini-blinds.

At the helm station the captain has available the following input: Engine temp VDO guage, Bilge pump indicator,
Oil pressure VDO guage, emergency engine stop, tachometer, VDO guage.

Owners Comments

"Beginning in June 2005 we spent the 12 months traveling America's Great Loop. Summertime provided us with comfort, plenty of storage, fuel efficiency (burning 1 1/2 gal/hr.), ease of maneuverability, and an unbelievable lifestyle.
We had opportunities to meet with other cruising "loopers" while docked at a lock wall or rafted together for a dinghy party.  We had options of marinas or anchorages that enabled us to visit cities and towns as we traveled historical waterways.
The ease with which we were able to lower our mast meant that we could travel under numerous bridges with ease.
Whether for a weekend getaway or a year cruise, Summertime is the perfect vessel for a couple who desires a cruising lifestyle."
