Introduction BUCANEIRO was built and used in Brazil, and then in 2005 she was traded on a larger vessel by her owner. Upon taking her on trade Buccaneer Cruising Yachts elected to upgrade the vessel and equip her for more serious cruising rather than just for coastal use. These upgrades have all been done in 2006 and include:
Increasing fuel capacity by converting one of the water tanks
Adding a water maker to compensate for reduced water tankage
Installing a new Alfa Laval fuel polishing system to assure clean fuel
Installing new fuel manifolds for these fuel system changes
A second 14KW genset was installed
A new hydraulic bow thruster was added to assist with docking
New Trac digital hydraulic stabilizers were added
Hydraulic pumps were installed on both engines to run the above
A new helm station was added to the flybridge for FB operation
New 10" Furuno Navnet GPS / Radar system was installed at both helms
2007 Update include repainting of the hull to white from the dark blue. Special note needs to be made of the excellent aluminum construction throughout the vessel, as well as noting that all of the teak and holly sole can be removed easily for any bilge access required. Accessibility was the key word during design and construction.
Accommodations BUCANEIRO is a four stateroom, three head layout with the three guest staterooms forward and accessed via a stairway just aft of the pilothouse, while the fourth crew stateroom is fully aft of the engine room. The master stateroom is amidships and features an island bed. Both guest staterooms are forward and share a guest bath; the port cabin has an upper and lower berth with the lower being a double, while the starboard cabin has just a lower berth that is a double berth. The crew cabin is aft of the engine room, accessed from the aft deck, and has an upper and lower berth, along with it's own bath.
Salon The main salon is accessed from the covered aft deck or from the companionway leading to the pilothouse. All floors are teak & holly throughout the boat as is the salon. A large U-shaped dining area, with a large rectangular inlaid table, is to port, while there is an L-shaped sofa on the starboard side of the salon. Forward in the salon are cabinets, shelves, and the entertainment center.
