ACCOMMODATIONS AND LAYOUT: The spacious forward stateroom features a double bed and mirrored vanity with a full bath/shower in the forepeak. The luxurious 450 offers a grand stateroom aft. A queen size bed with a real inner-spring mattress, separate desk/computer station and hanging lockers with lots of additional storage qualify the 450 as a true “extended cruising” boat. In addition to the head with a sink and vanity, there is also a completely separate, fully enclosed tub/shower. This is the way to relax after a hot day of sailing! Another plus is the two zone air conditioning with reverse-cycle heat. This can be used dockside or at anchor thanks to the ample 9 kw generator in its own sound insulated housing. The main salon table converts to a double bed and the port side settee converts to an effective sea berth. A large easy access swim platform with ladder and hot & cold outdoor shower provide for an easy way to cool down, rinse off, or clean up the dinghy. GALLEY: The U- shaped galley has three burner propane stove with oven and broiler, microwave oven, water cooled refrigerator and freezer (which can MAKE ice) and double stainless steel basin are all surrounded by Corian counter-tops. There is an abundance of storage cupboards, shelves and racks. Dishes and cups included. HEAD(S): Vacuflush electric heads mean no more pumping. The heads flush with fresh water to eliminate odor, water tanks hold 200 gallons. ELECTRONICS AND NAVIGATION EQUIPMENT: Fleeting Glimpse has two separate VHF radios – one is accessible to the cockpit. The other, a Raymarine, at the navigation desk, is DSC capable with a separate handset, speaker, and is hard wired to the GPS system for precise distress position transmission. Separate GPS systems with independent antennas (one on the starboard and one to port). The GPS at the navigation desk is connected with the Raymarine Seatalk system to the autopilot, radar, depth sounder, speed, and wind instrument. Hundreds of Chesapeake waypoints are already loaded in. The other GPS system is a Raymarine color chartplotter mounted on the steering pedestal. Raymarine 4 kw radar with multiple screen options including full instrument repeater and MARPA (multi acquisition radar plotting aid) is included. Raymarine depth, wind, and speed instruments are mounted over the companionway so they can be seen from anywhere in the cockpit; not just by the person behind the wheel! ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: Easy access AC/DC panel near the navigation desk, solar panel for keeping the engine battery charged. 9 kw generator with less than 50 hours, upgraded 100 amp engine alternator, new house and engine batteries in 2005. A really unique feature are the AC electrical hook ups both forward and aft which enable you to easily plug in whether you are in a slip bow first or stern first! Separate trip switches for all AC inputs. Plugging in doesn’t get any easier! Shore power ‘A’ includes outlets, refrigerator/freezer, microwave. Shore power ‘B’ runs the heating and cooling systems (separate units forward and aft). The generator can also power shore power ‘A’ and ‘B’ when not in a slip. This means that air conditioning and refrigeration can be used at anchor or under sail. Heart 2000 watt invertor, automatic battery re-chargers, color TV with shore cable hook up, VHF player, CD/stereo with speakers in all cabins and cockpit and a second set of controls in the cockpit. SAILS & RIGGING: The sails and sail-handling inventory include: In-mast roller furling main sail with controls on the mast and a second set led aft. Self tacking staysail on a Harken track with sheet and halyard lead to the cockpit, removable inner forestay on a pelican clip, roller furling jib. Asymmetric spinnaker with spinnaker blocks and sheets led aft along with a dosing sock and storage bag. MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT & ENGINE DETAILS: The Yanmar 78 hp turbo charged diesel (upgrade) with only 407 hours, Edson single control (transmission and throttle together) on pedestal, 3 blade prop and Sidepower bow thruster with controls on the steering pedestal all provide for good boat speed and effective handling in close quarters. The 100 gallon fuel tank provides an extended range. CANVAS AND OTHER EXTRAS: Custom navy blue Sunbrella bimini that covers the entire cockpit and companionway. The bimini easily folds onto the arch. The separate sunshield that attaches to bimini really keeps the cockpit cool. Nautical stripped Sunbrella covered cockpit cushions plus lounging/sun bathing cushions that cover the aft cabin roof provide for plush relaxation space.
