Remarks

Beautiful to behold at any angle, L Francis Herreshoff's designs are as stunning today as in the 1930s when this beautiful yacht was drawn at his drafting table. Thoughtfully detailed and equipped CATRIONA was built for a long term, discriminating yachtsman, she is only for sale as he is now shifting to power.
Simple beauty was the hallmark of L. Francis Herreshoff designs. CATRIONA has been kept virtually 100% true to her creator's intention; only minor changes have been made from the original plans to improve storage, etc. All of the moldings, carvings, rigging etc. were completed as the designer specified. A number of other yachts have been built to the design but CATRIONA is the one built closest to what L. Francis's hand put to paper; others have tried to improve upon his work; none have succeeded. The attention to every detail that has gone into this superb yacht is impressive. Research as to original canvas colors etc. to match her as closely as possible to the original BOUNTY to name but one item. CATRIONA will have great appeal to those who are looking and have appreciation for a true classic.
We have prepared a CD with over 60 high resolution color photographs. Please call and we will gladly mail you a copy.

Accomodation

The yacht has been kept traditional below decks as well as above with elegant though simple accommodations in 2 staterooms. An additional stateroom or crew's quarters is forward. The finish is done Herreshoff style (as one would expect!) with varnished teak trim on white flat panels. Raw teak sole provides superb footing on the mooring or under sail. Having been designed well before the advent of air conditioning her natural ventilation is superb with 12 opening ports in the owner's quarters and 4 hatches, all with screening. Artifical lighting is provided by 12 volt reading lamps at all berths and settees and there are a number of overhead dome style lamps as well. Starting forward in the owner's quarters are the Owner's and guest staterooms that essentially mirror one another. Generous double berths with some bin type storage and lockers under. Aft of each berth is a bureau with 2 drawers and a locker under. The starboard stateroom has a hanging locker inboard of the berth.
Next aft to starboard is the enclosed head with Corian vanity and sink with pressure H&C water, manual W.C. plumbed via Y valve to a holding tank, ensuite shower and good storage.
The Main Salon is especially bright and airy. Fwd and to port is a large hanging locker that is deep enough to have shelves outboard. Aft of the hanging locker is an L-Settee with storage behind the settee back and on a shelf with a fiddle above. There is bin type storage under the settee. Dining is from a large varnished teak drop leaf table that has 2 large drawers fitted at each end. Opposite the settee is a bureau with 3 drawers and a locker under and a drop face locker over. Just aft of the bureau is a second hanging locker. Continuing aft on the starboard side is a very generous navigation station. The yacht's electrical distribution panels and navigation equipment are mounted above the flip top chart table. Below the table there is a chart drawer and a storage locker and there are three drawers just aft.
Across from the Nav. Station, to port, is the U shaped Galley, expansive Corian counter tops provide an abundance of work space as well as storage below in 2 drawers and 2 lockers as well as a flip out trash bin and a drop face locker under the stove. Outboard at the head of the U are dish racks. The galley, while feeling very traditional is equipped with full modern amenities including Grunert holding plate equipped refrigeration and freezer boxes, Force 10 4 burner gimballed propane stove with oven and GE Microwave.
The Third Stateroom or crew's quarters are accessed from the dog house forward and feature a V-berth with some bin type storage under, a Corian vanity aft and to starboard with lockers over and under, sink with pressure H&C water. Aft on C/L is a manual W.C. behind a privacy screen that folds out. Opposite the vanity is a bureau. Ventilation is via 2 opening ports in the house.
Purposefully elegant, but without any frills, as L. Francis Herreshoff intended, is the best way to describe her accommodations.
