Hull & Deck Plank of frame construction with bronze fastenings: The boat was in the care of a life long Swedish shipwright (when the owners kept her in Massachusetts over most of her life) including refastening the bottom in 2001. New Decks The last three years she has been in Maine and has been looked after by an equally knowledgeable yard that in '06/07 removed all of her teak decking which had little wear, removed her original plywood deck, made any required repairs or replacements to deck beams and then laid a new plywood deck glassed in over and then re-laid the teak. The yard also went over the hull but found it to be perfectly sound and not wanting any repairs testifying to the excellent care she had previously received.
Topsides are finished white with a blue boot top and red anti fouling on the bottom. Bronze capped rup strake.
Fiberglass over plywood side decks with a teak overlay, all new in '06/07. High bulwarks with teak cap rail, bronze stanchions with teak safety rail provide plenty of security moving about the decks. Large lazarettes aft, teak swim platform. Varnished teak trim.

Additional FAIRWINDS has been under the loving long term ownership of one family since new. They employed a knowledgeable shipwright to identify and make any prudent repairs and when he was no longer able to see to her, have since employed a second knowledgable yard manager to do the same. Given the attention she has received, we are confident she will survey as well or better than any wood GB 36 on the market. The Chelsea Brass Clock & Barometer set, which was given as a gift to the owner, is specifically excluded.
