Remarks The long term owners of this 42 classic are putting her on the market with much regret (she has been as well loved as she is cared for)! This gives the buyer the advantage of getting a boat that has had numerous recent upgrades as well as good care. Some of the work includes some new electronics in '07, refinished cabin soles, electical system refit & upgrade in '05/06 including inverter, batteries, alternators just to name a very few. Her interior, customized at the builder's yard offers a lot more storage than the standard GB 42; as such she will be especially appealing to those who intend to do serious cruising or be onboard for longer periods.
Accommodations Typical of the Grand Banks 42s, ADAGIO has a full varnished teak interior. What is atypical is a number of factory done custom joiner work options that notably improve storage on the boat (follow the layout description below). The main cabin sole was refinished in '02 while the fore and aft cabin soles were refinished in '07 and look like new. Natural light and ventilation are superb as the Salon space is surrounded by windows, several of which open and have screens. The fore and aft cabins have generous sliding windows with screens and the forward cabin has an overhead hatch while the aft cabin has the Grand Banks trademark aft companionway. Artificial lighting is equally well supplied with reading lamps at all berths and settees and several additional overhead lamps. Starting forward is the Forward Cabin featuring a V-berth with filler. Above the berth the hull is lined with varnished teak ceilings while below the berth there is storage in drawers and drop face lockers and some bin type storage forward. Aft and to port is an enormous hanging locker while opposite to starboard is the Guest Head fitted with manual W.C. plumbed via Y valve to the large holding tank, generous vanity and storage; the vanity is fitted with a stainless steel sink with H&C pressure water. There is also an ensuite shower with drains to a separate sump with pump. The ladder leading to the Salon lifts to reveal a crawl thru door to the engine compartment. Up three steps to the Main Salon, Lower Helm Station, and Galley. The Salon features an L-settee upholstered in an attractive dark blue Ultrasuede, with drop face lockers below to access storage. Opposite is a bureau with several storage drawers and lockers, the second refrigeration box and other storage, forward of which is the port side door. Fwd. of the L-settee is a unique bureau which nicely divides the navigation and operation space of the yacht from the living space. The folding dining table, which can easily seat six, stows on the aft side of this bureau which offers voluminous storage in three drawers and two lockers with shelves. The starboard side door is just forward of this bureau as is the lower helm station. Along the port side of the Salon area is the Galley (see detailed listing below). Down three steps (with storage under) is the spacious Master Stateroom. Unique to this Grand Banks 42 is the extra storage on the port side. Aft of the standard large hanging locker is a 2nd hanging locker and then an additional bureau with several drawers, dressing vanity inboard of which is the standard centerline bureau with six drawers. To starboard is an oversized double berth fitted with a custom Handcraft inner spring mattress. Below the berth is still more storage in 3 drawers. The Master head is forward and to starboard featuring manual W.C., separate stall shower with separate sump, generous vanity with stainless steel sink and good storage.

Mechanical Equipment Twin Lehman Ford 120s provide an economical cruise speed of 8.5+ kt at 1800 rpm consuming just 4 GPH, 2000 RPM provides 9.5 kt burning 6 GPH, while 2200 RPM will get the boat to 10.0 kt (only ever done to confirm engine capability). The owners have always done maintenance above and beyond what the manufactuer recommends.
Hull & Deck White solid fiberglass hull with molded in plank lines and rub rail with bronze half round, dark blue boot top and red bottom in a hard epoxy antifouling. The bottom is fair with very little build up having been stripped in 2004. Teak decks, in good condition, overlay a fiberglass deck, with varnished teak trim, cap rails and safety rails. The brightwork was stripped and refinished in '00 and is in very nice condition. The transom was stripped in '05, sealed in epoxy and finished with several coats of Epifanes. Wide side decks allow ease of access fore and aft, large lazarettes aft provide plenty of storage for docking and misc gear. The flying bridge has plenty of space for deck chairs aft while forward are the standard "fore and aft" bench seats with storage under.

Additional ADAGIO is one lucky Grand Banks!! The current owners have lovingly used her and cared for her since 1992 and have always stored her inside. She is only on the market as they now have other plans for their free time.
