Accommodations

Traditionally styled and beautifully crafted, the Eastbay 55 has extensive varnished teak joiner work typical of Grand Banks, with varnisehd teak and holly soles throughout. Abundant light and natural ventilation with 8 stainless steel ports, 3 hatches and 2 dorades. The saloon/helm deck is surrounded by large windows, doors aft and adjacent to the starboard helm, sliding windows P&S and an electrically operated drop down window aft, all of these plus a large retractable sun roof. When natural ventilation is insufficient the yacht may be heated or cooled via the reverse cycle air conditioning. Artificial light is equally abundant with reading lamps at all berths and settees, several overhead lamps and indirect lighting in the saloon. The yacht is fitted with two staterooms both with island queen berths laid out as follows:

Starting forward is the Guest Stateroom with island queen berth below which there is storage in large drawers, outboard there is cabinetry running along the hull P&S above which the hull is lined with varnished teak ceilings and then under deck lockers. Aft and to port is a hanging locker while aft and to starboard is a bureau with drawers outboard of which is a hanging locker. Aft and to port there is private access to the Guest /Day Head featuring separate stall shower, Sealand Vacuflush W.C., stilestone vanity with sink and pressure H&C water and ample storage.

Continuing aft from the Guest Stateroom is a 2nd access to the day head on the port hand while opposite to starboard is a locker with freezer compartment and combination washer dryer unit a short distance aft of which is the Galley to port (see Galley below) and the access to the Owners Stateroom to starboard.
The Owner's Stateroom features a true walk around island queen berth below which there are drawers accessed at the forward end. The berth is on an electric lift to access bin type storage below the aft end to access less commonly used items. There are nightstands with drawers and lockers each side of the berth and additional lockers and drawers outboard. Forward and to starboard is the large, cedar lined, hanging locker with light just forward of which is the door to the private Owner's Head. The head features a generous separate stall shower, Sealand Vacuflush W.C., and stilestone vanity with sink and abundant storage in several lockers and drawers.

Up four steps is the Main Salon with helm station to starboard. To port is a forward facing L Settee, raised to that the "navigator can comfortably see across the bow while underway and seated. There is storage under the L-settee and the pedestal mounted table provides ample space for a chart kit or food. Aft of the smaller Navigator's L Settee is a large U shaped settee with drawers and other storage under. The two settees are divided by teak joiner work that houses a cleverly designed wine rack that slides out. Dining is from a large high low pedestal style varnished teak table. Opposite the settees is a full length bureau which houses a number of drawers, additional refrigeration, an ice maker and the pop up TV cabinet and stereo equipment.

Forward of the bureau is the Helm Station featuring the full vessel/engine controls, console for electronics, and the yacht's electrical distribution system. Seating is on a pedestal mounted Low back Admiral Stidd seat. While the seat itself has a fore and aft adjustment the whole pedestal is also on a slider to make positioning at the helm comfortable yet provide ease of access to the starboard side door. A second access door to the cockpit is just off centerline aft.
