She started her life as a P-480 Patrol vessel built by the Dooley Shipyard, Ft. Lauderdale, in 1944. After WWII she was converted to a modern motor yacht used by the Mellon family for bone fishing in the Bahamas throughout the 1950's. She was seized by Fidel Castro while on charter and was later used as a transport in the Mariel Boat Lift, after which she was refitted by the United States government and returned to her previous owner. The current owner purchased her in 1998 and completely stripped and replanked the hull, extending the main deck cabin and adding a flybridge. In 2004 was repowered with Caterpillar 3660's, and in 2006 she had a haulout, bottom inspection and fresh paint.
