The custom Hall carbon fiber spar was new in '06 and was finished off by Greene Marine. The spar has no spreaders and is fitted with the original Harken roller furling headstay and eight composite shrouds also new in '06. The mainsail is fitted to the mast using an Antal track system with the original Antal cars (no roller bearings) on the mainsail luff. An Edson radar bracket is properly insulated and installed on the mast just above the inner forestay.
The loose footed main is fitted to the original metal mast boom which has 2 sets of handholds P&S. A 4' aluminum bowsprit extends from the stemhead on a custom swivel hinge secured forward by a bobstay, to which the roller furling screacher and spinnaker track line are attached.
On deck, adjacent to the companionway are primary winches P&S for the headsails, a main halyard winch, a control line winch, utility winch for the screecher/spinnaker halyards and mainsail reefing and mainsheet winch. Positioning of the winches offers excellent solo and short handed sailing without exit from the cockpit. A winch on the cockpit seatback ledges to P&S provide easy control of the composite running backstays. Ten Lewmar spinlocks organize leads of control lines and halyards to the winches. A single winch is located on the mast below the gooseneck, for the roller furling genoa. All are Harken self tailing winches.
