Accommodations The boat sleeps eight persons in three staterooms, plus the pilothouse. The master stateroom has a California King bed, the guest stateroom has long twin beds, the crew quarters has three berths, and the pilothouse has a single berth, athwartships of the settee. There are four heads onboard, all with pressure flush toilets. The master stateroom has "his & hers" heads with tub/shower combinations. The guest stateroom has a tub/shower combination in the head, as well.
Pilothouse The pilothouse has 360 degree visibility, with the helm forward and on C/L with wheel steering, compass, engine, and thruster controls. The electronics are in consoles forward and on both sides of the wheel, with the engine gauges in the starboard console. There are swivel chairs either side of the wheel, and doors to the upper deck, both port and starboard. Aft to starboard are steps down to the main salon. Aft to port is a raised L-shaped settee with table. Aft of the dinette and athwartships is a day bed.

Galley The large U-shaped galley was all new in the 2000 refit. The cabinets are all White Oak, the counter tops are granite, and the sink is double bowl S/S. There is thirty five cubic feet of freezer space onboard, and a seven-foot pantry, that allows for an excellent inventory of stores. The NEW galley appliances include:

Two (2) Northern Lights 20KW generators w/ 3000 hrs on port, 2000 hrs. on stbd.
In 2000, both generators had top end overhauls, that included having the heads shaved, new valves, and new injectors.
Dinette The dinette seats 7 persons, plus 3 in chairs, and is immediately adjacent to the galley. It features a hand crafted, inlaid table (new in 2000) and a large U-shaped bench seat.
Salon The main salon is just aft of the galley and features two leather recliners and two leather sofas. The entertainment center features color TV, VHS, AM/FM stereo, and a CD player. The entire interior is done in "White Oak", including all of the cabinetry, and the sole is fully carpeted throughout.
Master Stateroom The master stateroom features a California King bed with night stands on both sides, and drawers beneath the bed. There is a "his" and a "hers" head with a full set of dresser drawers across the wall between the heads. This full width master is located aft of the engine room and is accessed via the aft stairwell in the main salon. This exceptional stateroom is done in White Oak like the rest of the boat's interior.
Hull The hull is 5/16" steel, with all of the interior spaced foamed. Above the waterline the hull is either stainless steel or galvanized. All structure above the main cabin ceiling is made of 5086 aluminum, which is the pilothouse and above. There is 1.5 inch thick, by 10 inch wide steel, keel skid plate the length of the keel. Other equipment is:

Special note needs to be made regarding the Cummins engines, in that they are rated at 195HP for continuous duty @ 1800 RPM. They are naturally aspirated, and de-tuned for continuous duty service. Exhaust pyrometers are installed and operational on both engines, registering 610-620 degrees F @ cruise.

Remarks "The PELICAN is a welded steel vessel, designed by Jack Sarin, and built in 1985 under the owner's supervision, by Berggren Marine in Chula Vista, California. THE RESULT IS AN HONEST VESSEL, WONDERFULLY FINISHED, AND READY TO GO ANYWHERE." These are the surveyor's comments, as taken from his December, 2002 report. NOTHING, says it better.
Quality, redundancy, safety are found throughtout the boat. Water tight bulkheads, fire suppresions systems, continuous duty rated engines, full compliment of functional electronics, recently refurbished from top to bottom, and now available from her ORIGINAL owner. Naiad stabilizers were added in 1999, and then in 2000 her updates include:
New 115 HP Suzuki 4-stroke for the Arima tender
New exterior paint job, the included new covers & window gaskets
New interior wall coverings and interior refinishes
New bridge upholstery
New galley with all new applicances
Hydraulic system plumbing rebuilt
Both generators had top end overhauls, with new valves and injectors
