Description

This former naval ship currently operating as a Research/ Exploration yacht and is offered complete with a set of Conversion plans for refitting to a luxury expedition yacht. This vessel's Class Society is the International Naval Surveys Bureau. I.N.S.B. and her Class is Commercial World wide E0 Ice C. She was built to a standard that few yachts ever attain. She was re-powered with a Caterpillar 3508 Diesel in 1991, and will cruise at 8-13 knots with a 8,400 nautical mile range at 8 knots. Most of the cabins, corridors, bath rooms and salons were rebuilt and upgraded in the last few years. Accommodations include a total of 16 beds (with potential for 20) in 12 single and 2 double occupancy cabins. There are 3 single cabins with bathrooms, Galley, mess room and day room, and a large office behind the bridge. Built in 1967 at the Mjellem and Karlsen Shipyard AS, Norway she is 343 Gross Tons and 103 Net Tons; and built to a standard that few yachts ever attain.

She was re-powered with a Caterpillar 3508 Diesel in 1991, and will cruise at 8-13 knots with a 8,400 nautical mile range at 8 knots.

Ship's electrical requirements are supplied by two updated Generators that include: an Iveco Aifc 8061-M12, 79 Hp, New 1997 / generator 58 kWa and one Volvo Penta D5A - ATA, 150 HK, New 2007/ generator 65 kWa. She is equipped with a powerful 250 HP Brunvoll / Volvo TMD-120AK Bow Thruster.

Electronics, Navigation, Communications and safety equipment has been regularly updated in accordance with class requirements and the bridge is well-equipped with redundant systems suitable for world cruising.

Most of the cabins, corridors, bath rooms and salons were rebuilt and upgraded in the last few years.
