Interior Accommodations

The Dutch craftsman, Ronald Mos, created a yacht quality interior that benefits from a family history of boat building.  The interior bulkheads are of top quality marine plywood with the locker doors and drawers being made of solid exotic African hardwoods, namely Hard Pear and Ironwood creating a blend of natural varnished wood on painted ivory color bulkheads to form a uniquely African ambiance. The flooring in the galley and salon are teak while the staterooms glow of Wild Olive wood.

Harvest's interior layout is designed to the best advantage of generous beam keeping in mind the accessibility of systems hardware for routine maintenance.  There are three double cabins, the two aft cabins sharing a head and shower and the forward main cabin with en suite head with stall shower.  A spacious main salon is to starboard.  The galley area with exquisite granite counters, has a gimballed stainless steel gas stove and stainless microwave. An additional island area provides further storage and seating around the salon table.  The navigation center is to starboard and is positioned at the aft end of the starboard side of the salon.  The guest head is port at the base of the companionway entrance.  There are two generous double quarter guest cabins port and starboard aft that are preferred when sailing offshore.

Electrical System

The electrical system is the standard 12-volt DC system with 220-volt AC with 110 volt AC available AC for various American appliances and shore power. The installation and design is of the highest quality with simplicity and reliability in mind. The German technician, Struan Butler of Waterline Yachts and Systems, who directed the project had 20+ years experience and has completed numerous installations both on private luxury and commercial vessels and brought European standards to the project.

The Fisher Panda 8 KW generator is the state of the art water-cooled alternator variety; very quite, light and reliable, allowing for the charging of the house batteries and the power to run the water maker and any future air-conditioning system.

Closing Remarks

To summarize, HARVEST is a custom Simonis designed and built by professionals.
