Sometimes, as the say, to get something done right, you just have to do it yourself. Such is the case with John Van Ost. His sucessful bareboat charter in Caribbean needed boats built to his high standards and he just could not find a supplier to get that accomplished so he started building them himself. Even today his boats are highly sought after and are still some of the best boats ever made. Sophia is one of the examples of the fine work accomplished by Mr. Van Ost and his now famous boat works.
