“Horizon” sleeps 10 owners and guests in 5 staterooms. There are 5 owner and guest staterooms including 4 guest heads and 4 guest showers. Crew accommodations include 3 berths and 2 heads & showers. The Captain’s quarters are separate.
Salon
The salon has maple paneling with mappa burle inserts and carpeted soles. The salon also features air conditioning, a custom L-shaped sofa to port, another custom sofa to starboard with occassional chair, 2 coffee tables, an end table, a door to the aft deck with power assisted opening, and large fixed windows to port & starboard & the aft bulkhead. All the way aft of the salon is the salon bar with 4 bar stools. The bar has a sink, SubZero icemaker, and bottle and crystal storage. Just to the left of the bar is a large built-in entertainment center. This center houses a Plasma TV and control panels for: speakers, cable TV, TV antenna, Gemini VHF, Yamaha audio visual receiver, Yamaha stereo receiver, Toshiba multi CD player, Panasonic VCR, Pioneer CD player, Sony multi CD player, Yamaha dual cassette player, and RCA DSS receiver. The dining table is located just forward of the salon and is separated by a low counter. The table seats eight guests comfortably. The dining area has a raised soffit ceiling. Built-in forward is a U-line wind chiller, forward to port is a wine storage cabinet. There is also storage for crystal and silver, a pull-down Sharp projection TV screen is located overhead and aft of the dining table. Just forward and to port of the dining area is the circular stairway leading down to the guest foyer.
Galley
The galley is a country kitchen layout. The large U-shaped dinette is forward to port and separated from the galley by a low granite countertop. There are large fixed windows port and starboard with storage cabinets beneath and down the starboard side. Also featured in the galley are a U-line undercounter drink refrigerator, 2 bar chairs at galley countertop, KitchenAid 5-burner electric cooktop w/ oven below, KitchenAid trash compactor, double stainless steel sink, KitchenAid undercounter dishwasher, large KitchenAid 2 door refrigerator/freezer w/ ice & water on the door, KitchenAid microwave, and Insinkerator garbage disposal. Outboard to starboard is a pantry area. The after part of this pantry is an equipment room called “THE CAVE”. The following items are stored here: Motorola cell phone, Mitsubishi Sat Com phone, Nautilus cell phone, Panasonic modular switching system 616 easaphone, Miarcom fire alarm control unit, Ademco controls, MTU control boxes, 3 square D-type switch panels, 2 Newmar 32V – 12V 50 amp DC converters, 12V emergency DC battery, Stat power true battery charger, wiring bus bars and junction strips, Anschutz gyro control, DC plug in automotive fuse strips, central vacuum cleaner, air conditioning condenser main units, and Kidde BC fire extinguisher. In the passageway is a door to the day head and a main side deck entrance door. The day head has a toilet and washbasin. The passageway and day head have marble flooring. Move aft to the entrance of the salon.
VIP Suite
All the way forward is the VIP suite featuring a centerline queen berth, built-in Panasonic TV/VCR & JVC mini component system, large hanging lockers port & starboard, private head with toilet, washbasin, and enclosed shower, air conditioning, CD/Cassette player, and carpeting.
Guest Cabin Forward
There is a guest cabin forward to port with a queen berth, built-in Panasonic TV, Alpine AM/FM tuner w/Cassette and CD player, VCR, carpeting, air conditioning, large hanging locker, and private head with toilet, washbasin, and enclosed shower.
Master Suite
The master suite is located amidship with a centerline king berth w/ custom fabrics and pillows, carpeting, large dresser to port, Sony TV & VCR, settee, hanging lockers to port & starboard, built-in entertainment center, air conditioning, and RCA stereo system w/ receiver. The master head has divided his and her heads, to port the head has a toilet, washbasin, and enclosed shower. To starboard the head has a toilet, washbasin, and large Jacuzzi tub. All custom faucets, flooring, and hardware.
Guest Cabin
A guest cabin amidship to port features twin berths w/ custom fabrics & pillows, built-in Panasonic TV/VCR, JVC mini component stereo system, large hanging locker, carpeting, an entertainment center, air conditioning, vinyl overheads, vinyl wall coverings, varnished wood trim w/ birds eye maple inserts, a night stand, 2 portholes w/ safety covers, mirror bulkhead, and a private head with a toilet, washbasin, and enclosed shower. Another guest cabin amidship to starboard has all the same features as the cabin across with the exception of the hanging locker.
Crew's Quarters
Access to the crew area is through a door in the cockpit. In the passageway is a crew mess area with a small dinette and a small galley opposite. The crew area is fully furnished and has carpeted soles, Formica paneling, and vinyl wall coverings and overheads. The crew galley has a stainless steel sink, Panasonic microwave, Panasonic TV/VCR, 2-burner stainless steel cooktop, U-line undercounter refrigerator, Alpine radio & CD player, Whirlpool thin twin combination stacked washing machine & dryer, and Crescent alarm panel & bilge pump override switches. The crew cabin to port has a double berth, Panasonic TV/VCR, Alpine AM/FM tuner & CD player, and a private head w/ toilet, washbasin and enclosed shower. The crew cabin to starboard has upper & lower berths and a private head w/ toilet, washbasin, and enclosed shower.
Pilothouse
The raised pilothouse has entrances port and starboard with side deck doors. There is a five-panel windshield with washers and wipers. Behind the console is a pair of leather armrest type helm and companion chairs. Aft to starboard is a raised circular lounge with table. Aft to port are the stairs and sliding hatch to the flybridge. Electronics and equipment appointments are as follows: American bow thruster control, Naiad stabilizers, Furuno FCV581 color video depth finder, Furuno DFZX weatherfax receiver, Kobelt jog steering, Stevens SEA Hail loud hailer, Sony monitor for security camera system, Kobelt 7175-M rudder position indicator for the log lever, Kobelt engine controls, Ritchie digital Flux Gate compass, Northstar 941X GPS plotter, Ship’s lighted alarm panel, ACR electronics remote spot light control, Elbex security monitor controls, Kobelt rudder position indicator for the steering wheel, B&G multifunction navigation receiver, and Texas Instruments Night Sight thermal imaging receiver.
Flybridge
The flybridge has painted non-skid decks; there is a stainless steel framed bimini top, full instrumented helm with bench seat, port and starboard wing stations, sliding hatch leading down to pilothouse, deck level lights, and Alpine speakers port and starboard. Aft of the helm is a sun lounge area with pedestal mount cocktail tables and L-shaped seating port and starboard. Seating includes cushions, covers, storage beneath, and deck level lighting at the base of each seat. Aft of the sun lounge is a step down to the bar and Jacuzzi area. To port you will find the bar with two pedestal barstools, stainless steel sink w/ storage under, and SubZero undercounter refrigerator. Behind the bar is a small electric barbecue with stainless steel lid. Opposite the bar is a Gecko hot tub with sun pad and cover. Overhead is the molded fiberglass radar arch with flush lighting and speakers underneath. On top of the arch are a pair of remote searchlights, Buell Strombos dual trumpet pneumatic horns, loud hailer speaker, a pair of Trac Vision domes and various lights and antennas. The flybridge helm electronics are as follows: Anschutz Pilot Star D autopilot, Furuno 72 mi radar display repeater, American bow thruster control, Ritchie digital Flux Gate compass, MTU control panels, ACR remote spot light control, computer display monitor, Kobelt rudder position indicator for steering and wheel position, autopilot jog lever, Stevens 156 VHF radio, Kobelt engine controls, Dataline GPS, Kobelt jog steering (lever), Steven electronics SEA Hail hailer, Sony security monitor receiver, Trac Vision II by KVH w/ 2 DSS receivers for the TV, Trac Phone II by KVH, Sat Com system.
Deck & Cockpit
Deck features include a Bruce 150 kg galvanized anchor w/ 250 galvanized anchor chain, stainless steel bell stand w/ chrome plated bronze bell Marquipt 2500 lb. Hydraulic davit w/ tethered remote (w/ extension boom), stainless steel handrails, Maxwell 3500 hydraulic anchor windlass. Directly aft of the foredeck seat is a large dogged and gasketed hatch leading to the bosun’s locker. This hatch is raised via pneumatic rams. Stowed in this locker are various ladders, the extension boom, foredeck seat and seat cushions, heavy hawsers, dock lines, wood’s freezer, and fire station w/ hose, nozzle and pump control. The aft end of the side decks are partially protected overhead by the housetop overhang. There are flush mounted lights and a closed circuit TV camera in the overhang. At the end of the side decks are sliding doors leading to the accommodations area. In addition, at the aft ends of the side decks, mounted high on the house sides area a pair of locked boxes, these non-gasketed doors lead to the on deck fuel fills. The aft deck is teak featuring a small bar area with SubZero undercounter stowage. Centerline is a large fixed window with bench seat beneath. A large varnished teak table with bench seating and 2 folding chairs. Forward to starboard is a stainless steel and teak curved ladder leading up to the sun lounge and boat deck. Aft is a large bench seating area, the center section of which slides forward to meet the aft deck dining table. There are cushions, covers, and storage. Teak treads port and starboard with deck level lighting and stainless steel handrail lead to the teak decks of the cockpit. In the port and starboard after corners are bolted stainless steel fairleads leading to the Maxwell 2200 hydraulic warping windlasses and bolted stainless steel cleats. Forward port and starboard is a pair of 100 amp shore cord connections as well as dockside telephone and cable TV connectors. Forward on centerline is the dogged and gasketed door leading to the crew accommodations area. Port and starboard of the door are a pair of small lockers. Inside the starboard locker is the tender gasoline fill hose and pump. Inside the port locker is a hot and cold shower, hot and cold water spigots and potable water fill. Gasketed hatches with pneumatic lift rams lead to the lazarette and steering gear. Aft on centerline is a hinged door leading to the teak overlay decks of the swim platform. The swim platform is lit with deck level lighting, folding tender cleats port and starboard and sockets for the swim ladders. The lazarette is accessed via a pair of pneumatic ram lift dogged and gasketed flush hatches in the cockpit. Here you will find storage for the Kobelt steering system, welded aluminum tender gasoline tank, hot water tank, 2 welded stainless steel potable water tanks, pneumatic ram system for lazarette doors, 2 teel potable water pumps, 2 Sealand vacuum tanks for the toilet system, Sealand vacuum pump for crew head, Kobelt steering rudder feedback, Anschutz rudder feedback unit, 2 stainless swim ladders and dive equipment storage if necessary.
Engine room & Electrical
The engine room is entered via a watertight door in the centerline aft engine room bulkhead from the crew’s quarters. The engine room is fully lit with overhead AC fluorescent and DC spotlighting. The decks are plywood with a carpet overlay. The engine room is also fully insulated behind painted, perforated, aluminum sheathing. There are overhead stainless steel handrails. You will also find the following panels: Crescent Beach designed and built main electrical switchboard, load bank A sub panel, load bank B sub panel, 2 Trace engineering remote inverter panels, DC switch and fuse panel, fire, Halon, and general alarm lights, engine control panel, fire and bilge panel and ship’s fuel management system panel. Most systems are located behind separate door panels with viewing windows. Extremely well organized! Engine room/Mechanical equipment is as follows: Hitachi digital inverter for engine room intake fans, American bow thruster Arcturus central hydraulic system, Pyrene 35 lb. Halon fire control system, lube oil transfer system, Watermakers, Inc. 1500 gal/day watermaker, emergency engine stop, 2 workbench w/ a single Schulz vise, large twin sea chests w/ crossover valve system, DeAngelo exhaust system, Pyrene 15 lb. CO2 handheld fire extinguisher, Wilden pumps for fresh and waste oil pump, Wandering lead hose for the lube oil system, MarineAir chillwater air conditioner system w/ reverse cycle heat, fresh water cooling system, Naiad 353 roll stabilizers system, engine hour meter, FloMax bilge pumps, deep sink w/ faucet, Devilbiss Air power compressor w/ 20 gal receiver tank, Edson pneumatic black water discharge pump, manually operated hand lube oil transfer pump, hot & cold hose outlet. The electrical systems include 110V, 220V AC electrical system, 12V, 24V DC electrical system, Trace Engineering converter/invertors, Newmar Phase III battery charger, batteries, Northern Lights monitoring & control panel in engine room, 2 Northern Lights 55 kW generators w/ sound shields, battery parallel switch, and a dockside electrical cable.
