Introduction Designed by Alan Payne, this is a spacious, fast and well behaved family cruiser. The center cockpit provides privacy for the roomy aft stateroom with ensuite head; there is also a forward stateroom and another head compartment. A 62hp Yanmar was installed in 2000. Uncluttered decks, excellent ventilation below, and plenty of storage are only a few of the reasons you should consider taking a closer look at this yacht.
Accomodation Forward stateroom features a large v-berth, hanging locker and dressing seat. An ensuite head compartment has a marine toilet, sink w/vanity, storage and shower. The main saloon has an L-shaped settee/berth to port (converts to double berth) and another straight settee to starboard.Many storage shelves and lockers are provided outboard. A dining dropleaf dining table is mounted on the centerline of the boat. An extra large nav table faces aft, to port at the bottom of the companionway allowing for good communication between the helm and navigator. The nav table lifts up, for access to storage below, and several drawers are also provided. The galley is located in the walkthru to the owners cabin aft. This stateroom is versatile, offering athwartships queen berth (with new mattress) which convert to a pair of single berths with storage for the insert underneath. Plenty of storage is also provided. This cabin also has an ensuite head compartment complete with marine toilet, sink, vanity and separate shower stall. Five new 12v Guest fans installed (2002) throughout the boat. Screens for all opening ports.
Galley Located in the walk-thru between the main salon and the aft cabin, the galley is out of the way, and provides the cook with extensive of storage and workspace. A minimum of 6'2" headroom is provided, even in this area. A double S/S sink has H/C pressure water and there is also a Galley Maid 3 burner propane stove with oven. The large, well insulated icebox has an Adler Barbour Cold Machine installed. Lots of storage is provided for dry goods and galleyware. Foot pump installed '01.

Disclosure In 2007 this boat was involved in an accident that resulted in visible damage to the bow stem. As always, a pre-purchase survey is strongly advised. Damage was considered in the pricing of the boat.
Salesman remarks Columbia Yachts is best known for their moderate displacement Bill Tripp designs of the racer/cruiser genre. In contrast, "Athena" is an Alan Payne design featuring a full keel with cutaway forefoot.
