Originally built for the Canadian Coast Guard in Lauzon, Quebec as a buoy tender and sounding vessel, M/V BEAUPORT was designed and constructed for light-duty ice breaking. Beauport, a 169' Collingwood Expedition Ship, spent her first 30 years operating year round in fresh water on the St. Lawrence Sea Way. Originally accommodating a crew of 34, the vessel was sold to a U.S. owner in 1993, at which time she was converted to a luxury yacht. There were a number of cabins removed to make way for guest accommodations, a large master cabin and a main salon. In 1998 Beauport was moved to Jacksonville Florida, where she underwent a 6 month mechanical refit of all engines and operating systems. In the spring of 2000 2 new John Deere 115 KW generators were installed as well as a back up 150 KW Isuzu and massive 8 Ton hydraulic deck Crane. She is tremendously efficient burning only 30 gallons per hour at cruise for both engines and one genset. Many recent upgrades make this yacht a must see for the worldwide cruiser. Owner will consider selling either 1/4 or 1/2 of the yacht for cost effective cruising, or sell outright! Call today to discuss this ship's interesting history.
