This boat ( #DC 46079 ) was purchased in 1996 at Forked River state marina New Jersey. The vessel was kept as original as possible, and the owner has continued to make repairs with authenticity. This is an ongoing renovation, and buyer needs to acknowledge that funds are needed to continue.
The boat has a complete set of used but good running spare engines, reduction gears and transmissions. All 4 motors came from the great lake region and were always in fresh water.
All systems aboard are working in a yacht quality fashion; 250 gallon Fuel Tank, 60 gallon Fresh water tank, electro san sewage treatment, 30 gallon water heater.
The mariners museum in Virginia holds all Chris Craft information on this vessel, from blueprints, construction, drawings, wiring diagrams to test run pictures.
December 2007 winterization: All systems were working on the yacht at that time.
The Yacht will start and run nicely.
Restoration If you wish to (Needs and Cost ):
Yacht was refit in a warehouse from 1996 to 2000, as the pictures show, she was refastened, struts, shaft logs, rudders were removed, some of the outer planking was replaced and the whole bottom was refastened with # 12 silicone bronze wood screws.
Done by Shipwright in Australia: replaced transom, fuel tanks and some cabin side wood.
These yachts will weather the harsh environment outside all year without any issues.
A major refit has been done about every 10 years or so.
Wood work and paint are needed to refit.
Work on the Toe rails, rub rails, lower windshield frame needs to be done.
In order to be a show winner, it would take $60,000. Mostly labor!!
But if you just want a nice older yacht look, she turns heads now.
