Accommodations Beginning forward, Southern Comfort's VIP stateroom is beautifully finished. The VIP stateroom includes a queen, island berth with storage below. Hanging locker space is plentiful with a large, cedar lined locker to port and an additional cedar lined locker to starboard. As with the rest of Southern Comfort's interior, the finish is high gloss cherry with Karadon solid surfaces. The forward head is entered through the companionway to starboard and also includes VIP access. The head is quite roomy and includes a Vacuflush system, separate shower stall, lots of storage above and below the vanity. Moving aft and to port, the galley includes all of the amenities and comforts of home. Fully functional and roomy, the galley includes an oven, flat surface stove, microwave/convection oven, separate refrigerator and freezer, coffee maker, sink, full-sized dishwasher, and tons of prep space. Countertops are finished with solid surface Karadon. The galley sole is finished is hardwood. Moving to starboard from the galley, a crew/third stateroom is located beneath the large dinette. The stateroom includes a twin berth and can also be utilized in storing items for extended voyages. Moving aft and up a couple of steps from the galley, one enters the expansive salon area. The breakfast bar is situated to port and the large dinette capable of seating six is located to starboard. The salon includes a huge settee to starboard and aft, and an additional settee to port with integrated sleeper. Handsomely adorned in a high-gloss, cherry finish, the salon is inviting and capable of entertaining many guests. The entertainment center featuring a Bose stereo system, DVD, CD changer, DirecTV Satellite system, and color TV is located to port and aft. Continuing aft, down and through the companionway to port, the washer dryer combo is located along the companionway to the master stateroom. Moving into the aft master stateroom, one finds a beautifully appointed cabin with tons of storage in both drawers and cedar-lined hanging lockers. The lockers and cabinetry have been customized to include full-length lockers and additional stowage. The queen island berth is situated along the centerline. An additional entertainment center with stereo, CD, and cassette is located aft and to starboard. Drawers line the starboard section, the aft vanity, and flank the centerline berth both to port and starboard. Electronics & Navigation Southern Comfort includes a very powerful, functional, and user friendly electronics package making cruising more enjoyable and safe while reducing work load for her captain. Electrical System The 466 Motor Yacht was thoughtfully designed to accommodate all of the comforts of home while providing access to her components that allow all of these comforts. Southern Comfort includes an excellent panel, thoughtfully placed shore power connections both forward and aft, a Glenndenning cablemaster for easy shore cable storage, and three battery chargers for the engines/generator, bow thruster and house services.

Deck Equipment The Carver 466 boasts one of the largest flybridges in her class. The bridge includes a superbly designed ergonomic helm with all features well within reach from the comfortable custom captain's chair. Three helm seats line the panel and visibility is excellent in all directions. Southern Comfort's custom hardtop along with AC units adds great value and comfort. Stowage is plentiful via three areas on the bridge, two to port, and one to starboard at the helm for gear, provisions and sundries. Southern Comfort also includes a custom Barret system enclosure for the bridge and aft deck. A large settee and table are situated to starboard and aft on the bridge for additional seating and comfort.
The aft deck includes a seating area, a wet bar with sink, wine/liquor/beverage storage cabinets and ice maker, access to the aft deck hard top via a stainless steel ladder, and access to the transom and swim platform. Lexan wing doors provide protection from the elements for the aft deck. All steps to the flybridge and swim platform are molded fiberglass providing safe and comfortable access to these areas. Additionally, the owner has customized many of the steps on board to facilitate easy boarding and exit.
Moving to the integrated swim platform via the large, curved molded steps with stainless steel handrail, one finds a hot/cold shower for rinsing off after a swim or dive. The city water hookup, freshwater port, and glendenning cablemaster are all located on the transom. The swim platform is large and sturdy. It includes an integrated ladder that conveniently stows within the platform while not in use. A custom davit system, molded steps and dunnage box are employed at the transom. Included is an Avon RIB dinghy with electric start outboard motor.
Moving forward from the aft deck and through the wing doors to port and starboard, one finds the side decks to be wide and comfortable compared to other Euro-styled vessels of her size. Bow rails have been customized and extended, lifelines, and stanchions are fashioned high above the deck providing extra safety and comfort when handling lines and ground tackle. The foredeck includes a sunpad for soaking in the rays or just lounging in comfort. A Maxwell 1200 windlass makes short work of splashing and hauling the anchor. She includes approximately 275 feet of chain with wash down located within the hold just aft of the pulpit.
Engine & Mechanical Equipment Continuing the trend in thoughtful design, Carver's 466 Motor Yacht engine room is well organized, provides ample access to all components, and is quite roomy considering the headroom available in the salon. Southern Comfort is fitted the optional 480 HP Volvo TAMD74EDC engines (945 hours) which are the largest available in her model. She includes a 13.5 KW Onan generator (1473 hours) with sound shield. Very clean and professionally maintained, Southern Comfort's engines, generator, and components are powerful and economical.
