This lovely motor yacht was built by the legendary Burmester shipyard in Bremen, and has a unique history. She was originally used by the German Navy as a customs patrol ship, and kept on constant emergency alert. Her powerful 1050hp Klockner-Humbold-Deutz (KHD) Motorswork diesel engines can attain a maximum speed of 21 knots. Although she is now in Italy for a complete overhaul - her fourth major refurbishment - she may still be inspected at any time. Her hull and the drive systems are being thoroughly inspected. The interior cabin area is not finished. As the new owner, you can re-design the interior cabin space to your own taste. Still, the vessel is kept immaculately clean and maintained by her meticulous German owner.
June 2002 Update:
At the moment, the vessel is in a prestigious Italian shipyard being painted. The owner has finished a great deal of technical work amounting to a complete overhaul, including:
- polished propellers and shafts - measured the hull plate thickness by ultrasound method and replaced all plates necessary - hydro-sandblasted the hull and applied 1 coat of A/C and two coats of A/F paint - replaced all sea water cooling pipes in engine room with stainless steel pipes - completely reassembled two sea water pumps in workshop and replaced two others - dismounted the rudders/shafts and tubes, cleaned, checked and painted
Many impressive photos are available on request. All works are carried out under Germanischer Lloyd for the classification of 100 A5. Other refurbishing work in progress as of this date include:
- the crew area including the galley, toilet and washroom with shower. - the forward deck salon - plan to reduce the pilot house to build a second saloon on the middle deck.
