Accommodations Bruckmann has recommended interior accommodation configurations, each owner has the opportunity to customize. The standard interior features the Herreshoff style with white bulkheads and varnished teak or mahogany trim and doors. The quality of the workmanship is exceptional and, working directly with the builder, the owner's ideas can be discussed and incorporated with maximum efficiency. A brief description of the most popular interior arrangement follows.
Pilothouse Walking into the Bruckmann 50 pilothouse, one is immediately struck by the panoramic visibility and direct (no step) entry from the cockpit. The inside steering station includes a chart table and a fully instrumented helm station with seat. Steering from the inside station during adverse conditions is a delight. Aft of the seat is room for a lounging chair or built in settee. To port is a very comfortable U shaped settee with exquisite dining table.
Additional features of the pilothouse are the 360 degree visibility while seated, direct (no step) access to the cockpit, ambiance of exquisite woodwork and finish, and exceptional light and ventilation in the pilothouse, with opening forward and side windows, deck hatches and wide pocket door.
Galley Forward of the salon to port of the pilothouse is a spacious U shaped galley. Because the galley overhead is open to the pilothouse, it has extra headroom and light and ventilation from the forward pilothouse windows. Positioning the galley a few steps down from the pilothouse gives it some separation while maintaining a very bright open work center.
12 volt electric refrigeration with separate freezer & refrigerator with top & front access and 4" foam insulation
3 burner Force 10 stainless steel stove with oven
Under mounted double stainless steel sinks
Two 10 lb. aluminum propane tanks with regulator stored in isolated vented lockers with solenoid
Den, Office or Additional Guest Cabin On the starboard side and opposite the galley there are multiple arrangement possibilities. The most popular choice is a den with built in desk and settee. This area can also be set up as a second guest cabin with pocket door or office.
Guest Stateroom Further forward on the starboard side is a proper guest cabin with double berth. The door to the guest head is directly across the hall. Hanging lockers, drawers and night table are built in.
Heads The guest and master cabin heads are to port forward of the galley. The owner's head has direct access from the forward stateroom. A separate stall shower is positioned between the owners and guest heads with privacy door access to each. The guest head is accessed from the passageway that makes it well suited as a day head.
Master Cabin The owner's master stateroom is forward with room for a centerline queen or V berth with filler that converts it to a very large double. The advantage of the V berth is the extra storage space available under the berth. Built in furniture may include settee, night table, dressing table, hanging locker(s), drawers and shelf lockers.

Closing Remarks The Bruckmann 50 Mk II performance cruising Pilothouse is one of the most comfortable and well finished quality semi custom yachts. The builder, Mark Bruckmann, decided that his proven 50 design's performance under sail and power could be enhanced with a stern platform hull extension. The 150 hp John Deere has been replaced with a 200 hp providing very fuel efficient cruising speeds while offering sustained 11 knots when desired.
The 50 Mk II offers an exceptional cockpit with sliding door entry into the large pilothouse with comfortable settee and helm station. A few steps down is an impressive galley, one or two guest cabins with head, large master cabin with ensuite head. Both heads can share a stall shower and a den is a popular choice with couch that converts to a berth.
At Bruckmann the client is offered the opportunity to be involved in some or all stages of construction from hull layup to launch.
