Description Designed by Ted Hood and built in 1975 by Bristol Yachts in Bristol Rhode Island, this 40' sloop is a real sailor's boat. It points well, stands up to a good blow and will sail well in winds as low as 5 knots. This boat has been continually maintained and upgraded since it was purchased by the current owner in 1992. The Perkins 4-108 engine was new in 1992 and has 600 hours since the complete mechanical system overhaul in 2003. Very easy to view in Ft. Lauderdale.
Accommodations Starting at the bow is the anchor locker. Just aft is the forward cabin. It has a V-berth with filler, drawers underneath and four cabinets at eye level with sliding doors. To starboard is a hanging locker with more drawers and a cabinet to the right.
Aft of the V-berth on the port side is a head with entry from either the forward cabin or the main salon. Opposite the head is a hanging locker with access door.
Going aft from the V-berth and head is the main salon. It has a dinette to port that one can pass by without having the dinette folded in the up position. To the starboard side of the salon is a settee that makes a great sea berth. Above on both sides are more cabinets with sliding drawers as well as storage under and behind the seat cushions.
Further aft to the starboard side is the galley with a 4-burner gimbaled stove, top-opening refrigerated ice box, sink and cabinets with sliding doors.
To port of the galley is a forward facing navigation station with a hinged desktop for chart storage underneath. There are drawers and a cabinet built into the base and another cabinet at desk level. Aft of the navigation station is a quarter berth that converts into a cockpit locker when not in use. It also has two eye level cabinets with sliding doors.
