Description Exceptionally well equipped, clean, well maintained and upgraded cruiser. Just three owners, each seemingly better the last has resulted in a 24 year old boat which looks and is equipped like a 2007 sistership. The Bristol 31 has a justified reputation as an exceptional cruiser, racer. "Sindur's" equipped for comfort - custom inner spring mattress, lazy jacks, refrigeration and air conditioning are a few of her niceties. She's priced very competitively as her owner has moved on to power. If you're considering a good cruising boat, do not fail to have a good look at this gem as you will not be disappointed.
History "Sindur's" current owner has continued her excellent maintenance history during the last year with exterior waxing, varnish, replacement engine hoses and belts, as well as all of the recommended repairs from his Survey of January 2006 (copy of which is available on request).
Accomodations Sindur has wonderful accommodations. The aft cockpit is large for a 31' sailing yacht. The cockpit has wheel steering, bimini, dodger with aft and side SS hand rails and new cushions. There's an awning with side and aft drop curtains for additional comfort and protection at the dock or at anchor.
The teak interior is in good condition and provides a comfortable place to lounge, entertain or live. The sole is varnished teak and holly. There are two deck hatches with screens, two fiberglass dorade boxes with SS vents, opening ports to provide good light and ventilation. Sindur is airconditioned by SMS reverse cycle AC using digital controls. Headroom is good throughout as is storage space. Bristol Yachts are known for these features.
Owners cabin is forward with V-berth sleeping for two. The filler may be added to convert this into a large double bed. There is a spring mattress for this cabin. The stateroom has hanging locker, drawer and cubby storage space. Two opening ports and the overhead hatch provide light and ventilation.
The head and shower are aft next to port with hanging locker across the companionway to starboard. Features include manual head with holding tank and Y-valve, shower and shower curtain track, vanity and sink with hot and cold pressure water system and storage space, opening port and dorade vent, and outboard locker space.
The salon has port and starboard seating, both settees convert to sleeping berths. There is storage under, behind and above each settees. The teak dining table folds against the forward bulkhead until needed.
The galley is aft to starboard and is well equipped with a Shipmate three burner propane stove with/oven, stainless steel sink, and hot and cold pressure water. The EZ Kold refrigeration was added to the starboard ice box. The ice box was improved with additional insulation. This area doubles as the navigation station with good sized chart table.

Broker's Comments The Bristol 31.1 was ahead of its time. As and early 1980s production sailboat, the 31s carry a remarkable number of design elements which all contribute to make a good boat sail even better. When the boat owners upgrade a good boat with latest hardware and systems, the good boat is again, ever better. A few of these elements are: inboard genoa tracks, inboard chainplates, self tailing primary winches, wheel steering, rigid vangs system, mast mounted spinnaker / whisker pole track and car, roller furling. This boat, with all of that plus fresh wax, canvas, varnish, AC, engine servicing and a whistle clean interior is one fine, a true "Bristol," 31.1.
