SUBSTANTIAL PRICE REDUCTION (December 07)!  This is a fabulous boat at a fabulous price!
If you are looking for a go anywhere, bullet-proof cruising boat in the mid-40's range, Summer Wind deserves your very serious attention.
Some of the features aboard the Brewer 44 that knowledgeable cruisers look for on a blue-water live-aboard yacht include: safe deep cockpit with sail handling lines in easy reach; raised bulwark for safety going forward; spacious afterdeck so useful for organizing all that live-aboard gear one accumulates, as well as to clean fish and access the dinghy; excellent engine access; more storage and tankage than you think you could ever fill (you will!); a substantial yet compact galley; a decent size bed for the captain and mate on anchor; sea-berths (that forgotten feature in modern condo-yachts) and the list goes on. In addition to her design features, Summer Wind is well spec'd with many upgrades and includes an array of spares that would justify opening a chandlery!  Summer Wind has been very well maintained by three owners - all maintenance records are available. The Fort Myers Shipyard built a limited number of these fine cruising yachts and so they are highly sought after.  Call me soon for an appointment to see this fine yacht before she disappears over the horizon, because that's where she's headed!

Accommodation

This center cockpit boat has entry into the aft cabin and the salon from the cockpit.  Entry into the aft cabin is via a hatch at the back of the cockpit on the starboard side.  An almost-vertical ladder takes one into the master cabin between the door to the head (to port) and the door from the workshop (starboard).  The master cabin has a huge bed with storage space along the hulls as well as below the bunk and separate vanity's to each side as well as a hanging locker on the starboard side.  The head has a Jabsco electric toilet, next which is a shower area with a seat,  separated from the rest of the head compartment at floor level, with a knee-high moulding. There is a sink and vanity, with mirror as well.

On entering the boat from the main companionway, one finds the U-shaped galley to port, with fridge and freezer under the aft counter and double s/s sinks in the forward counter.  Once again there is plentiful storage.  The Chart table/navigation area is opposite the galley and behind it you can step down into a passageway to the back cabin.  The passageway allows engine access and on the outboard side is a high counter which can be used as a work bench. The storage below is perfect for tools and other larger equipment.
Forward of the galley and the navigation station is the salon with a straight settee on the starboard side and a L-shaped settee to port, both of which can be converted into doubles.  The varnished, wooden table is attached around the mast and has leaves that fold up on both sides to create a large dining area.  Once again, the storage in the salon is plentiful and forward, on the starboard side is a tall locker, up against the bulkhead.  The V-berth is spacious and well ventilated with a hatch and opening portlight. Lockers overhead, down the hull sides, below the berth, and at the head of the berth, to starboard.  The forward head is entered on the port side of the cabin.  It has a Raritan electric toilet, which can flush salt or fresh water, as well as a sink with handheld shower. Opening doors at the foot of the bunk allow access to the anchor locker.
