Design The Brewer 12.8 is a center cockpit, cutter rigged, keel stepped sailboat with the famous "Brewer Bite" ¾ keel and skeg mounted rudder.
Hull and Deck The hull is well constructed with airex coring. In 2000 a complete refinishing of the bottom was performed re-glassing all imperfections and ground fair. The entire hull was sanded, sprayed with 20 mils of white gelcoat. Three coats of Interlux 1000/1001 were applied. Then three coats of 2000/2001 were applied. The entire underwater hull was then painted with three coats of Interlux Micron Extra red ablative bottom anti-fouling paint as a tell tail then four coats of Interlux Micron Extra black were applied. All painting was done according to Interlux specifications and recommendations. The boat has been hauled every year, examined for blistersNONE FOUNDlightly sanded and painted with Micron ablative paint.

Summary This is a well provisioned, comfortable, safe boat equipped for extended cruising. If an item is not on board you probably do not need it. Do not expect a BRISTOL dockside queen which never leaves the dock, manned by a fulltime crew of four, forever polishing and painting to keep it beautiful.
