Ovation has just been reduced to $289,000 from $329,000 on 8.9.2007
The Braginton 42 is the ultimate statement in good taste, classic beauty and state of the art construction technology. The Braginton's Nara rosewood laminated hull sides, polished stainless hardware and teak decks give it a nostalgic look that is reminiscent of vintage wood power boats of the 1950's, only the Braginton is built on a modern fiberglass hull. Her interior décor is of the futuristic Art Deco period, a time influenced by speed, chrome, black mirror finishes and unrestrained opulence.
If you are looking for a unique and distinctive yacht; a one of kind that will turn heads in every marina, then this is the one. M/V Ovation is a perfect combination of speed and elegance. She is powered by twin silver anniversary edition Cat diesels with chrome valve and intake covers (375 hp) housed in a standup engine room. The Braginton 42 is equipped with twin carbon fiber 5 blade speed props for maximum performance. She features a teak hydraulic swim platform for launching her replica jet tender,"Encore", and a hot tub spa for entertaining that is neatly hidden under the deck just forward of the transom. Even though she is a glass boat Ovation has been featured in the book, Classic Wooden Motor Yachts and in Motor Boating and Sailing magazine. She is listed in the Guinness book of world records as the largest rosewood object in the world and she is guaranteed to win prizes in any wooden boat show.
Ovation's graceful high performance hull lines were drawn by renowned Brazilian marine architect Luiz de Basto who also designed yachts for Riva. Howard Apollonio an accomplished west coast marine architect, did the structural engineering and tested the design at Boeing with their computers. At the time he was working with Boeing designing high speed assault boats for the US Navy. Ovation is capable of 40 mph top speed and cruises easily at 35 mph with a 400 mile range. The hull has 22 degrees dead rise amidships and 17 degrees in the stern. The FRP hull is built of Knytex unidirectional cloth for incredible strength with an Airex foam core (¾' sides and 1' bottom) laminated with Syntex isothalic resin for osmosis protection. The 3/16' rose wood exterior skin on the hull is laminated with West System epoxy and fiberglass. Ovation was originally custom built for Ed and Dee Dee Teren of Sun Valley by Transworld Boatbuilding in Taiwan.
Ovation's interior is elegantly finished in ebony, rosewood and teak with black granite counter tops, crème leather upholstery and polished stainless steel Italian fixtures. Her interior is by Brazilian designer Luiz Avilliz. The interior is planned around the galley as if preparing fine meals is the primary reason for going below. The galley is along the port side and features a 4 burner Gaggenau flush top 4 burner range and GE Monogram convection microwave oven. The boat is surprisingly open and roomy inside with a circular dinette, generous double V berth forward and aft there is a TV parlor lounge under the cockpit with inward facing leather settees that convert to a double berth. The head has a stall shower, black granite counters, matching black Vacu-flush marine head and a gorgeous Art Deco mirror vanity. Ovation displays a level of craftsmanship that is breathtaking. This is especially notable in the circular ebony and rosewood dinette table that is inlaid with mother of pearl in the shape of a conch shell. Throughout the vessels interior there is mounted artwork that tastefully reflects the boats seashell motif.
On deck the cockpit has a double helm seat with a reversible pivoting seat back that converts it to a dinette in an instant. A clear coated custom aluminum radar arch supports a bimini and full cockpit enclosure made of matching silver Stamoid fabric. The center window frame is hinged to open out onto the foredeck for sunbathing and for access to the windlass. Ovation's rumble seat hot tub spa is ideal for entertaining or relaxing and it's conveniently located just aft of the cockpit. You'll be the envy of all the boats in the anchorage when you're relaxing in the spa with a glass of wine shrouded in steam.
If you are looking for a unique and distinctive high performance yacht; the type of boat James Bond would own, then the Braginton 42 is well worth your consideration. Ovation is elegantly finished, robustly built and extensively equipped. She represents an excellent value at $289,000 which is only a fraction of replacement cost.
