Engine
The Flyer 12 is powered by 2 X D6 delivering 310 HP each.
The Flyer 12 offers the revolutionary new Volvo Penta IPS propulsion system, arguably the most important development in propulsion since the invention of the outdrive and something that may render the conventional shaftdrive obsolete.
Volvo Joy Stick option available at additional cost.
The new Volvo Penta IPS System gives increased speed, range and manoeuvrability. The IPS System features numerous advantages over the conventional shaftdrive: Significantly increased propulsive efficiency with 4-blade double counter-rotating propellers Improved handling Extremely low service requirements
Reduced noise and vibration Increased safety Increased room on board Very low exhaust emissions
Accommodations
There is a feeling of space and comfort in the interior of the Flyer 12. Wide panaramic windows allow natural light into the salon and galley and all woodwork in the generous U-shaped salon is in pearl-colored Mukali. The large salon table features a removable center panel with bar and stowage for a set of glasses. The widescreen and the sliding side windows are in tinted glass.
The elegant sideboard to port hides the full galley, which features wooden work surfaces, two-burner ceramic hob, front-opening electric refrigerator, built-in microwave with multi-function grill, two stainless steel sinks, mixer tap with hot and cold pressurized water, and ample storage.
The master cabin features a central double berth, dressing table with mirror, unit supporting flat screen TV and lots of storage. The owner's head is particularly well lit by a sky-dome which difuses light from the wheelhouse and features a glass washbin in teak surround, electric toilet, and a teak-slatted separate shower. The spacious port cabin has a double berth and ample storage. Also a fully-equipped starboard head.
Hull/Deck Construction
The Flyer 12 has an evolutionary V-shaped hull with a stiff tulip bow for easy passage through the sea and good spray deflection. It also benefits from the work on hydrodynamics by the Beneteau Research and Development department, allowing improved performance and comfort under way.
Hard Top
The hard top comprises a frame to support the radar and an opening roof to allow in natural light and for better ventilation in the wheelhouse. The opening roof is GRP and tinted PMMA, designed specifically for the Flyer 12 (with electric opening on the instrument panel).
