THIS IS A SPECIAL BOAT! LIZZY has undergone a refit in 2005/2006, not only restoring and improving the vessel's hull, superstructure, and interior spaces, but also upgrading her systems. This work was not done as the result of any damage but was undertaken by her owner to create a fast cruising vessel of the highest caliber capable of passagemaking anywhere in the world. She has a watermaker, solar panels, satellite communication system for weather and email, generator, air conditioning and a fuel polishing system among other electronic and mechanical features. Lizzy was a fresh water boat until 2004 (Great Lakes) and is available for inspection in Charleston, SC. She is hightly recommended.
Accommodations
Aft and to port is a large owner's cabin with double berth and private head with a stall shower. Starboard and behind the nav. station is a quarter berth. The nav. station is well equipped and faces forward. There are port and starboard settees in the salon providing additional berths for crew. The V-berth forward has access to an additional head and shower. There are berths for a total of 7 people. Custom mattresses with sheepskin covers Custom sheets, comforters and pillows. Deck/Hull
LIZZY has undergone a complete refit on her hull, completed at Oak Harbor Marina in Pasadina, Maryland. 2 electric bilge pumps (2005) Hatches, ports and screens: all removed in 2005 including hardware. Hardware and frames were sanded, cleaned and polished. All received new gaskets and sealants. All hatches were outfitted with new custom teak duo-fold screens. Hull: 2005 refit. Professionally sanded, primed (twice) and sprayed with 5 coats of Awlgrip. Chainplates removed and re-bedded, shroud knees were completely rebuilt, using rolled glass mat, vinlyester resin then vacuum bagged. 2005 custom teak companionway doors with screens and protective storage bag. Cabintop: 2005 rebedded all deck hardware. All was redrilled, filled, and tapped into 1/4" stainless and aluminum backing plates. Future maintenance never requires headliner removal.
